I love the little cakes you can get in here — I’ve not found them anywhere else in Oxford! The prices are very reasonable too, and it’s really convenient for buying bread or milk, and even eggs for a quick dinner fix. I’m always in a rush when I pop in, so I’ve never had a chance to chat to the owners, but they’ve always seemed very friendly. There’s almost always at least one other person in there, so I think they’re pretty popular, but it can be a bit of a pain trying to squeeze past people if you’re in a hurry. There’s a great range of magazines and newspapers, and it always makes me feel like I’m abroad when I see foreign papers. Great for a sense of perspective if you’re suffering from the Oxford Bubble syndrome.
