The menu consists of what an good home cooked food and is what you would find at a typical family restaurant The thing here is the scene. Lots of young and middle aged good looking professionals and workman all mingling around a small bar and seating area, with an eye on the telly. The barkeeps are young, attractive and attentive, the conversation is friendly, fun and funny

Yes quite agree that does look nice from the outside, but dimmer on the inside but nice enough compared to the wooden floor plastic pubs. Had a burger which for a pub was simply ‘fantastic’ with nice salad and tasty chips.
As for the drinks-​yes abit pricey on whole but certainly tasted fine to me and my friends (also liked the burgers).
Stayed for the quiz which made a nice change from the usual Roman/​Greek Gods questions with a good mix, didn’t win but for a £1 fee is well worth the experience, locals did say that the quizmaster done the quiz himself (impressive).
Must say I thought it was a warm and friendly atmosphere with customers that seemed welcoming to strange faceswell done.

A bit of a mixed bag, this one. I’ve not been in much — I prefer cosy, old-​fashioned pubs. This is more a typical town pub, with a big TV, mainstream drinks and rather loud and boisterous drinkers. Fun to come to with your mates if you’re not fussed about your surroundings, but not the place for a date, to take the family or for a business meeting. The soft drinks are fine, but some people say the on-​tap drinks taste watered-​down. The prices are reasonable for Oxford, but you expect proper drinks no matter what the price.
The food has been recommended as decent pub grub by several friends, although I’ve not actually tried it myself. It’s certainly not gourmet haute cuisine, but it should fill the hungry hole and be a pleasant enough experience at the same time.
The staff are friendly, but of the ‘y’alright mate’ sort, rather than the ‘what can I get you sir’ sort. Which, I suppose, is what you’d expect from most pubs.
