If you want to get a good bargain designer piece but don’t mind having last seasons this is the place to go. You really need a good couple of hours to have a nosey around though as there is so much to look at and it can be a bit like a jumble sale sometimes
Unfortunately you can only part outside for 1.5 hours and its not enough time, especially if you want to nose round next door too

TK Maxx: The not so surprisingly secret behind so many people’s designer clothes.
The good:
— You can get some real bargains
— It stocks a brilliant range of clothing, from ball gowns to trekking boots.
— It’s not just clothes: check out their shoes, bags, sunglasses and accessories.
— You never know what you’re going to get
— Often it’s reduced just because there’s new stock in the main stores now; most of it is good quality
The bad:
— Sometimes it’s obvious why nobody’s bought it — some of the items here are hideous!
— Sometimes there’s the perfect item but only in the wrong size.
— Clothes are arranged according to size, but as there’s such a variety of brands, the sizing isn’t very consistent
— It can feel like permanently hunting through sales bargains, including loads of clothes strewn all over the place and people barging their way around competitively.

This TK Max store is over tow floors and unlike some of their stores is not so jumbled and mixed up making it easier to find the real bargains.
Their bedlinen is great quality and really reasonably priced. Its always worth checking their clothes and shoes as their stock changes all the time and you can bit up designer pieces at great prices. It is hard to go in their and not find something to buy!

T K Maxx sells designer goods at massive discounts. This store in Cowley has two huge floors with men’s, children’s and home wares upstairs, and women’s and footwear departments downstairs. A small jewellry concession has opened recently. The prices are comparable with Matalan next door, but the quality is much better. Clothing is arranged by size and type (eg smart wear, young fashion), and you simply browse the rails for something you like. Often designer clothes with a big mark-​down, maybe last season’s, or returns, but not seconds. Stock changes frequently so you never know what you’re going to find. There’s utitlity clothing as well as fashion, I got heavily discounted Craghoppers clothing for a recent hiking holiday, together with walking boots, rucksack, hat, and water bottle. The homewares are again good quality, but at cheap prices: bathroom accessories, rugs, bedlinen and lots of china and kitchenware. Great for browsing, and great for buying!

It is definatley very hit and miss here– the stock changes continuously, and while there are some bargains to be found you do need to get through a lot of rubbish stuff to find them! This is a pretty big TK Maxx, with two floors of clothing and homewares. It is a good place to pick up brand name kitchen items– I recently bought some very good knives at a great price. However the main downside, apart from the time it takes to trawl through all the rails, is the bad attitude of most of the staff. They are completley unhelpful, and on several occassions I have found them to be quite rude. You really need to be a determined bargain hunter to enjoy it here!

I agree with a previous reviewer that it’s hit and miss at this TK Maxx. I don’t go often, but these days I tend to just shop for my boyfriend as the men’s selection seems to be OK. They do keep the place in pretty good condition as there are always at least 2 staff going through the racks efficiently and getting clothes back on hangers. Be prepared to sift through lots of junk. Also beware the changing rooms are unisex and I felt a bit awkward trying something on whilst a tall man was in the opposite booth and could clearly see over the top and into mine.

TK Maxx is very hit and miss like everyone else says! They do organise things into sections like e.g. sportswear, knitwear, dresses etc but it still is difficult to find the real bargains, and often they only have one or two of an item, therefore the sizing is an issue. They do have a very large selection of shoes organised in sizes so saves you having to ask if they have a particular style in your size. The homeware section is worth a look, they have quite unusual things there.

What you’ll find here varies from one week to the next and it’s often quite random, but here and there are gems — Le Creuset seconds/​last-​season pieces make a regular appearance, for instance, and are well worth looking out for at TK Maxx prices. Finding a specific piece/​style of clothing or household items can be very difficult but if you go in with an open mind there are treasures in there among the strange ‘designer’ tat. A lot of women’s clothing items appear to be American and interpreting labels into UK sizes is sometimes a bit haphazard.
Staff are not always helpful or well-​trained — one broke a piece of crockery I was buying and expected me to pay for it anyway! — but management are helpful and there’s rarely a long queue that isn’t managed well.

As many have said, this is a place where one week you may find some gems, the next week its tat. It is so unpredictable and often all jumbled up but saying that, its one of the few places that I can find ladies shoes in size 9 or 10, although sometimes they are a bit strange Toys can be a bargain (upstairs) and my hubby found the perfect Ben Shermann suit for our wedding for just 100 quid! I have yet to find many clothes I like/​can wear as a curvier lady but if you are a size 10 – 12 there seems to be lots to choose from Queues are not normally a problem here.

TK Maxx — what can you say. Cut price fashion, but its not for everyone. You do have to search around for things, but you can really find some excellent bargins.
You have to make sure you visit after they have had a delivery as some of the shelves (esp shoes) can be a bit bare.
Look for the clearance areas and have a good rumage. Always confirm sizing on the garment as the tags can sometimes be wrong.

TK Maxx, as always, is hit and miss. Sometimes you will go in and find the most amazing bargains, whilst other times you will wonder why you bothered. The store here is located in a retail park and seem to have new stock regularly. Be prepared, however, to spend some time sifting through the junk, though there are definitely bargains to be had.

Always worth a visit, although you don’t know what you’ll find from week to week. Discount designer clothes, homeware, shoes, kids clothes and toys. Some excellent bargains to be found (I bought Pringle dress rrp £200 for £35 for example). But it’s a bit like an upmarket jumble sale — you have to rummage through rails and rails of stuff to find anything. The homeware section is always interesting — some strange tat, yet you can often spot a real gem of a bargain amongst it all.
