Specialties

We specialize in Floatation Therapy, Floating is a way to pause the hectic, saturated world and enter a state of deep mental and physical relaxation.

By giving yourself a break from the endless input of sensory experiences, your mind has a chance to recharge, rest, and emerge to face the world with renewed perspective and energy. Otherwise known as floatation-REST (restricted environmental stimulation technique) or sensory deprivation, floating is backed by research and offers immense potential for personal growth and healing.

We also have a range of therapies from Thai Yoga Massage and Hypnotherapy through to Atmatsu. In addition to this we run various Yoga and meditation classes at the centre.

History

Established in 2015.

We worked in London for a number of years in education, from inner city primary schools to a pupil referral unit working with children with complex needs. Traveling home across London during rush hour after an emotionally and physically challenging day was difficult. The constant sensory overload was draining, leaving us feeling empty and exhausted.

After moving to Reading for work, my fiancée and I decided to make time for ourselves to relax and recuperate. In 2013 we tried floating and immediately recognized the benefits; we literally floated out of the building. Our skin felt amazing from the Epsom salts and we continued to feel a deep sense of calm that lasted for about a week. We wanted to have the experience closer to home, but no luck.

So we thought about it carefully and came to the conclusion that the people of Berkshire need this amazing experience in their lives. Two years later, here we are with Berkshire’s only dedicated Float Centre. Do ‘Nothing’!

Meet the Business Owner

Michael C.

Business Owner

I have never been afraid of hard work and believe that to achieve in life you have to make some sacrifices. Working since the age of 16 in various roles I have learnt a lot on the way arriving at this point. There is still a lot to to learn and learning never stops.

What I have realised over the last few years was that I needed balance as my mind and body were crying out for rest. I tried meditation and yoga which helped although finding a regular class that fitted around my life was difficult.

Whilst researching various therapies I came across floatation tanks. After reading about the benefits and floating for myself, I understood how important relaxation and escaping everyday life was for my well being.

I saw that there was no Float Centre in Berkshire and travelling to London to Float was good but expensive. There was no centre in Berkshire and I wanted to bring the amazing benefits to the Thames Valley.

Without Floating I don’t know where I would be, Floating is awesome!
