driving along the A27 the other week I remarked that I hadnt been in this place since the old A27 road outside was bypassed, so a few days later we dropped in for a meal. the ale was just right, the food was very tasty & served quite promptly, the place was warm, there were a fair number of other diners but not over crowded so we could chat without shouting, recommended. signposted eastbound A27 west bound turn off at the roundabout

I go here for the Roast Beef and Horse Radish dumplings! B****y wonderful. In fact, the whole menu is good. I prefer to eat in the bar as opposed to the restaraunt. I find it quite dark in there. Finish your meal off with the best pub coffee around. Served in beautiful silver alladin pots which give 3 cups of dark brown heaven all for £1. 50p.

I had a lovely meal at this delightful establishment last month and it was the perfect thing to warm me up on a cold day; braised beef with dumplings and roasted root vegetables. Has anyone else noticed the lack of dumplings on menus these days? Is it considered naff to eat dumplings?
The whole place had a nice warm atmosphere and the bar staff were really great. It was quite busy when I was in there as the bar is popular as well as the restaurant. They have a great house Shiraz which I can highly recommend with your meal.
The beer garden is huge but it was a little too cold and wet to explore it unfortunately. Looking forward to some warmer weather!
