Bought a couple of tyres on Blackcircles website, went to the fitter, Seafield Coachworks, to get the tyres fitted. Informed fitter I wanted the new tyres put on the rear axle, the two worn tyres fitted to the front pretty standard when getting new tyres fitted and certainly nothing out of the ordinary. Fitter said they couldn’t do it as the only car lift they had was in use, come back that afternoon. They then blamed me, saying what I wanted was an additional service and hadn’t requested this when I’d placed the orderTo cut a long story short, I asked for a refund, as I couldn’t come back later that day. Blackcircles said refund is fine, but it would result in a £10 charge. So even though Blackcircles website makes no mention of of specifically requesting for 2 tyres to be fitted to one axle(I’ve checked this in the FAQ section of their website) and the web form I filled in when ordering the tyres isn’t clear about this either, I was made to feel that I was causing BC and the fitter a problem. The fitter, Seafield Coachworks in Edinburgh, were argumentative and unprofessional. Not the first time I’ve experienced poor service with them, but it will be the last. First time I had issues with Seafield Coachworks they failed to carry out a simple bit of respraying correctly. When I went to collect he car I asked to inspect the work the girl on reception gave me a look that said it all, then escorted me to the car — low and behold the paint job was poor and had to be redone. The girl on reception has no clue how to respond to a complaint, other than to pull faces and show her distaste that a customer dare to speak up for themselves. Shambolic. The fitter did a u-turn and eventually agreed to fit my tyres as requested, and while watching the tyre fitter do his work I noticed he was removing a perfectly good tyre and about to leave the worn tyre on the car, contrary to the instructions I had given the receptionist ! Unbelievable! Give me a main dealer, or even Kwik Fit, any day they might cost more, but the service is SOMUCHBETTER. The contact at Blackcircles had no idea how to deal with the compalint I made, just saying I can cancel the order but I’d be charged a £10 admin fee! Even though they were the ones who couldn’t fit my tyres at the time agreed due to a lack of manpower and resources!(Which they eventually did fit, they should’ve just fitted them without the hassle in the first place). All in all, a bad experiecnce, and for the amount of money I saved I won’t consider going back, either to Black Circles or to Seafield Coachworks. It was interesting to hear that the guy in the queue behind me pointing out to the girl on reception that he wanted his winter tyres fitted with a bit more care than last time, as previously his alloys came back marked after having tyres fitted at Seafield Coachworks. ‘Nuff said. I aint the only one to experience poor service. Avoid, spend a bit more and get the job done properly without any hassles. By the way, I would never normally spend time writing a review on a site like this, but in the circumstances I am so annoyed at the total lack of professionalism shown by these two companies that I really feel I need to make others aware.
