I would rather pop in the stores of maplins as it can be rather difficult to find hat you are looking for on their online shop.
Staff are always friendly and helpful and Will offer advice for any item you are looking for.

i recently went here to get an extension headphone lead, i was impressed at the imformative staff as electricals is not my strong point. The prices were far cheaper than if i had gone to comet, currys or pc world as it is far less known. Although it had what i required i would find it questionable on if they supplied everything. There is not much range in individual products, but with the cheap prices it isnt necessary anyway

I was surprised at how good Maplins are. I needed a mulitimeter to fix an elecrical problem with my car stereo and the friendly and informative staff pointed me in the right direction, eventually supplying me with a meter which cost only £6! I was delighted with this. I have been back several times since. Maplins seem to stock slightly specialist items that are not available elsewhere, such as an external cooling fan for a laptop (this acts as a base, blowing air up into the laptop if you have cooling fan issues with your laptop.) They also sell lots of componenets for computer and other electrical systems

Many people may have a opinion of Maplin before going in the shop, but once you go in the staff are always particularly helpful. For example, when i was doing an electronics project, i was pointed towards the parts that i needed, without even needing to ask.
Also, you can order all of the components which you may need, which always tend to be in stock. Then, if they are not in store, they will always offer to order them for you, or point you out towards another shop where you may be able to get the parts needed.
All in all, if you need to get any sort of accessory for your computer or anything electrical, Maplin is the place to go!

Great store for electronic goods and gadgets. They often have specials listed in their monthly cataloge. Definitely a favourite store
