Whilst the provision of parking bays is a fabulous idea, the general abuse of them kind of tarnishes the concept. The poor policing of them adds insult to injury. I work with people of various states of health and I know that these spaces are like gold dust and can change a persons day from pretty ghastly to fairly ok. But when a car without a Blue Badge is found parked in such a bay, it can raise feelings of such injustice that assault could cheerfully be committed. Here’s the deal; if you don’t own a blue badge in your name, or the name of some one in your car who will be getting out of the car, you do NOT park in one of these bays. Even if you have borrowed great– aunty Elsie’s car which has a Blue badge in the glove box, do NOT use it. If you do, may your shame be publicised throughout the media and every comedy show, and may you be fined £1000 at least. The pox be on you for such utter selfishness. If relative dies who has a Blue Badge, return it to the Local Authority. No, do not use it!!! No! Respect the people around you, otherwise you may get discrimated against for the colour of your eyes. Walk, cycle, if you are healthy and enjoy your health!
