It’s always worth calling ahead to see if you need to book as it can get really busy in here. So, parking out the front can be a drama, and, if you go on a weekend evening you might end up parking right up the street with a fair walk, which if it is raining can be miserable. So the food is standard pizza express and it is the same as any other store in this chain. Service can be frustrating. I waited an absolute age for a glass of wine, and looked like I was a bit desperate as I was trying to get the attention of the waitress without actually hollering across the restaurant for service. In the end, I ended up walking up to the till and asking for one. On another occasion we waited over twenty minutes for our drinks and I was thirsty so all I wanted was my water! Once I went in here with a friend and it took nearly an hour to get the food bought out to us. By this time I was nearly chewing my arm off! It is also blinking loud in here. You find that you are talking more loudly to be heard, this is the case all over the restaurant so you end up being in the middle of a really noisy restaurant and saying«pardon» every two minutes. It also needs some knives that can actually cut the food that they serve. It’s enough to to drive you bat crazy! So, unless a friend insisted, I wouldn’t bother going back as the times I have been there it has been pretty poor indeed.

Typical example of this chain. Good quality food, but service at this branch can be a bit hit and miss. Also good value, especially if you have one of their numerous vouchers.

I’m a Brit who now lives in America. WHYDOBRITISHRESTAURANTSNOTSLICEPIZZAS? It’s not fancy. It just means they can’t be eaten as they should be — with fingers! That minor quibble aside, Pizza Express is an always-reliable stop for families like ours: grown-ups who want good food in pleasant surroundings, with ankle-biters that want their own healthy choices. Their kids menu is really great — appetizer, main course, and dessert for about 7 quid — and the adults always find something healthful and delicious on their menu. The previous reviewer said that this location could use a refurb’, and they must have listened as it looked pretty good to my eyes. They even have — gasp! — air conditioning. Lawks! A common complaint about restaurants in the UK is the customer service; it’s often far too slow, and frequently surly. We didn’t get the latter here but the former was on full display. Not that it was the very-nice waitress’s fault, as she was serving far too many tables by herself. So it took 2 hours eat lunch. But it was a good lunch, and set us up for a full day of fun in the areal.

Pretty standard fare for the Pizza Express chain. The staff and service are fine, but the restaurant itself could do with a refurb. Advise calling ahead to book a table so that you can avoid large groups of kids. The garden is brilliant in the summer!

I have regularly eaten as this branch of Pizza Express, and although it is sometimes very busy I have never not been able to get a seat or found the service hindered by the number of customers. Food is always lovely, freshly made and is served quickly. Even if you don’t fancy pizza or pasta the salads are lovely and I love their house dressing(and have even brought it ready made from the supermarker). The restaurant is split into a number of different sections and alcoves, with a few seats outside the front overlooking the main road and some in a secluded garden at the back — which is lovely in the summer.
