Frankie & Benny’s

All of the Frankie and Bennies stores that i have been to all seem the same. The prices are very high, the food is consistantly bad and the service is slow. My advice is to stay away as the Redhill store does its name no favoures

The food always arrives late and lukewarm, And its not like they are busy. The music is played annoyingly on a loop, and kept being interrupted by the smoke alarm — very worrying when you are in the toilet and red lights and an alarm goes off. The waiter was ok, but not deseving of the £8 service charge which was not displayed in an optional way on the reciept. I wont be going again soon.

Finally! A family restaurant in Redhill! is what I thought when this place opened, oh, at least three years ago. The atmosphere is so much better suited to families than any other in the town, no question there. They bring a fun pack to keep kids of most ages entertained, and the kids menu is very nice, including a portion of steamed veg (but you must ask for it). Warning – the kids’ pizza is enormous, save yourself some money and share between two.
As for the adult fare, it’s pretty good, solid food. Not fine dining in any way, but there are things I look forward to having; the Tiger Prawn Diavolo is my absolute favourite. I’ve tried a variety of things off the menu: salads, chicken parmesan, various pasta dishes, hamburgers, never was I disappointed.
However. The level of service can definitely leave something to be desired. We’ve often been left for far too long before ordering, after ordering, after finishing, you get the picture. I think this is mainly down to understaffing, but there have been incidences of simply bad waiters. Once I brought it to the attention of the manager, things improved, so if you’re in the same boat of feeling abandoned, do speak up.
All in all, I’d definitely recommend Frankie & Benny’s as a place for a fun lunch or dinner (they also do brunch, but I’ve never been) with the family, or for a nice break from work (but it might be wise to let them know you only have an hour).
