after many years of struggle with less-​than capable or competent staff, the place, in March 2011, is closed down. shame really, because it used to be THE place to go for beautiful home-​cooked food. due to a change of brewery (sam smiths) policy, all their food is now microwaved pre-​packed frozen food. ah well, there’s plenty of choice elsewhere. AS OF JUNE 2011 RE-OPENED…I will keep you informed!

The building is very interesting: a Tyrolean style building with lots of pine and white-​washed walls, but that is the best bit about it.
This is a Sam Smiths pub and suffers from a lack of most things. The soft drinks are disappointingly own brand, and when I asked about wine the answer was yes, did I want the red one or the white one!
The best bit about the place is probably the bar meals, which are cheap, cheerful and reasonably filling, but not good enough to offset the rest of the place.
I have called in the place and had a leisurely drink on a weekday evening and we were the only customers in the bar throughout: hardly a recommendation.
My recommendation, drive past and try somewhere else.
