When we purchased a house we were required by our mortgage provider to have a wood survey conducted. We ended up with this company.
In the end we had them in a couple of times, once before the purchase and once after, for a more thorough look. I think there is an imperative here to remember that this company is trying to sell a service, so when we were told that we had wood worm I took a closer look myself, did some research and further investigation and discovered that we actually didn’t have any at all.
Having largely dismantled and reassembled my house I’m almost absolutely certain that there is NO SIGN OF WOODWORM anywhere. So was someone trying to skin me for several hundred pounds? I don’t know, I’m not an expert. Richard & Starling are the experts.
