Established in 1971, our Company has developed into one of the UK’s leading suppliers of high quality Commercial laundry systems and enjoys an unequalled reputation for excellent after sales service.

We supply equipment from many of the leading brand names in the industry and we deliver service to a variety of organisations in diverse markets such as the Armed Forces, Universities, Colleges, Private Schools, Equine establishments and Racing Stables, along with several hundred Nursing/​Care Homes and small businesses around the UK.

During 1991 the Group acquired ‘Mastercare’ a long established company specialising in the design, manufacture and installation of contract interiors.

Goodman Sparks also operate two Retail Laundry and Dry Cleaning outlets in Sheffield.

History

Established in 1968.

1968

The Company was founded by the Sparks family and the first launderette was opened at Meadowhead, Sheffield.

1971

Two more launderettes were purchased and the business became incorporated. At this time customers were demanding more service and the dry-​cleaning and laundry division was developed. Richard Goodman joined the Company and the equipment Sales Division was launched with the Directors Richard Goodman and Roger Sparks running the business.

1973

The first Revenue Share (commonly known as ‘Route operation’) site was installed for Sheffield University

1991

Steady growth was maintained and Mastercare (Sheffield) was acquired.

2008

After 37 years of service to the Company, Richard Goodman retired at the end of June. Taking over from Richard is Jonathan Sparks

2009

Goodman Sparks acquired the local operation for Abbey Glen, providing a commercial and domestic collection service in the South Yorkshire Area.
