Meet the Manager

Island L.

Manager

Island L.; surveyor, manager, climber, has been involved in tree work since 2001 when he got involved in a reforestation project in Auroville, South India. After having planted over 5000 trees on a plot of land, he was put in charge of maintaining and improving that woodland. At this time he began getting interested in pruning some of the pioneer tree species, mainly Acacia auriculiformis, to improve their timber qualities which could then be sold to generate income for more reforestation and management. This led on to training with a local Spanish arborist to climb and prune trees. Eventually, they, along with another colleague, founded a tree service called Tree Care. Since that time, Island has performed a lot of pruning and dismantling along with continuing his studies in the field of arboriculture, some of it in India, some in Australia and finally, more recently, in the UK.
