History

Established in 2014.

Originally from Pembrokeshire, Rebecca has been a hairdresser in Shrewsbury for seven years, having previously worked for Toni and Guy, Über Hair and Skullduggery in the town.

She decided to take the plunge and launch her own business due to a change in her family circumstances. Trained to an advanced level by Toni and Guy, she has styled at London Fashion Week and taught up-​and-​coming hairdressers.

«It’s really exciting to be running my own salon, which is something I have wanted to do for a long time,» she said. «I had a vision of how I wanted the salon to look and it’s nice to have created it and to have totally transformed the building.

«I am lucky to have a really good following of clients, so hopefully the business will be a success. My ambition is to grow my team at Pure Brilliance into becoming some of the most skilled hairdressers in the country.

I started my career in Pembrokeshire aged 18, after completing my A levels in psychology, sociology, English and Geography. I qualified in level 1 and 2 and 3. At level 3 I learned about hairdressing, design and salon management in much more detail.

I was then trained by Toni and Guy to an advanced level and worked as part of their team for 4 years. In that time I styled at London fashion week and taught up-​and-​coming hairdressers all the techniques that I had learned along the way.

I specialise in Raccoon Extensions, Joico colour, Tony and Guy cutting and Afro Caribbean hair.

In my opinion being a hairdresser is the best job in the world! It’s fantastic to meet new people and to get creative with them — listening to them and understanding their needs is the key.

With my 13 years experience I will create a relaxing environment that is calm and homely. A place to come and enjoy being pampered with luxurious products.
