Stoke Park Country Club, Spa and Hotel

How great is Stoke Park? It’s a must-​do experience!
Everything was of excellent service set in the Old English ways, and I believe, it’s the only place where you really get to experience true proper Old English mannerisms. As a result, we were treated like honored quests and interestingly the atmosphere was not only polite but incredibly comfortable and casual. We stayed in the Windsor Room in the Mansion and they called my husband «Master»! His reply to that title? «If I die now, my life would be fulfilled.»
The food, table settings, and scenery are the best of the best. I needed gluten-​free everything, and it was hands down the best gluten-​free breads I’ve ever had. I couldn’t even tell the difference, and it was so moist. Also, the chef has an amazing way of putting together food combinations. For example, having samphire (which was the first time I ever had it) over the potato purée was like eating naturally salted potatoes, my favorite food combination ever.
The Mansion and grounds are steeped in historic tradition and renovation so it wasn’t uncommon to see repairs and improvements constantly being done. I can’t imagine the costs of upkeeping the brick, mortar, paint and plaster. Yikes!
We had a spa treatment at the Pavilion. It was very relaxing and modern. Next time, I would’ve added the foot, hand and facial scrub. I also would’ve requested a deep muscle massage versus a soft Lomi-​Lomi massage which yes, made me sleep, but I needed some serious muscle stretching and pulling!
Afternoon Tea at Stoke Park trumps having Afternoon Tea at the Ritz. Why? Stoke Park is REAL with the locals and people wearing their shorts and shirts. It’s not as stuffy and the food is top-​notch along with the view of the Orangery Lawn makes it feel so soothing.
For fun we watched movies that were filmed at Stoke Park and did the walk through the Memorial Gardens. I can’t say enough about having breakfast delivered to the room; the best breakfast I’ve had to date.

If you need a quick escape from the hustle and bustle of London, then Stoke Park is the perfect place to go. This is especially true if you are a golfer, which I am not!
Less than an hour away from the City, you arrive at a beautiful estate, surrounded by lovely trees and golf course. You may recognize the estate from a couple of James Bond films.
They have two buildings to stay in — the old portion, and the newly completed section. Both are lovely.
If you are not a golfer, they have a spa that is perfect for some solo time, or for a day with girlfriends. There is a lounge/​waiting area where you can order all sorts of snacks.
Speaking of snacks, Stoke Park does the nicest tea service I have ever encountered. I could devour all three tiers of sandwiches and sweets all by myself, but only because I am little piggy.
