Lode Lane Walk in & Health Centre

I was so impressed with this place I cannot praise it enough! I don’t live here (I am visiting my daughter and I live in the USA) and I developed a sudden and painful ear infection. I googled this place and turned up without an appointment. The receptionist was terribly sweet and asked me to complete a simple form. After about 45 minutes I was seen, examined and given a prescription. There was no charge (although I would have been more than happy to pay)
I went along to the chemist with my private prescription and was charged only the normal fee!
The NHS would be well within their rights to charge me, and I feel quite guilty that they didn’t since I have health insurance but I am very grateful to them all.

One of the last places you want to end up yet it’s nice to know if you do seek medical advice there are local walk in centres where appointments don’t need to be booked.
You come in queue up and give your name then wait to be called, they will ask you to fill in some short forms in the mean time but it’s not a big ask. It only took me half an hour to be seen and I was glad I made the visit.
I here a lot of bad things about badger clinics and walk in centres but I had no problems in my own experience.
