Dicksons Traditional Pork Butchers

Normally full of Charvers getting some Jarrow dummies for their kids (Saveloys).
However their quality is very good and do some fine sandwiches and pies, they are also very well priced

Dicksons is a local independent chain of butchers which has stores all around the North East. They are well renowned for the local delicassy — The ‘Savaloy Sandwich’ — a soft sausage-​type thing on a bun with pease pudding, stuffing and mustard. When I have been away from home for a while, I have to say that I do crave a savaloy sandwich! It’s usually the first thing that I buy when I get home: D
They also sell a lot of different cuts of meat — sliced meat for sandwiches, as well as their own brand of sausages which are the best sausages that I have ever tasted. The Laygate branch is quite small but they usually have everything that the larger branches sell. The only thing I find is that the shop is often cramped during lunchtimesmeaning that some people end up queueing outside, but a simple way to avoid this is to not go at peak times!
