The Dungeon

Ah, the Dungeon. Been going here for a number of years, and it has just gotten better with age. It might look a bit dark and dingy (Uh, Dungeon anyone?) but the people really make the night here.
Good music, good range at the bar, awesome and friendly staff. They even do a bit of grub if you get there quick enough (Fryers off at around 12ish, i think.)
Music very alternative; goth, grunge, metal, punk and a little bit emo (eeps!) sometimes too. Resident DJ of x years always a cheerful bloke too: P Always a good night out!
The Dungeon has a fair sized garden too, so you can chill out with your mates outside and chat. The music is played though to the patio area, so you don’t miss out on that either.
All in all an ace club; but ladies, be prepared to queue for the loo!

Bit of a dive, but I’m sure the people that go there every week wouldn’t agree or would and just say they love it anyway. I’m sure its one of those who you go with rather than what its like places.
Pretty damn cheap in the week for drinks, and nice people in there it isn’t a bad atmosphere!

this is one club where everyone is made to feel welcome. it deosnt have the up-​itself nature some alt clubs around do and its pure fun. weds night is cheese night — the best night if ur not into metal so much. drinks sometimes on the costly side but i would argue worth it for the atmosphere

The Dungeon is Southampton’s top Goth night club. Located in Beavois Valley, it has a wonderful atmosphere, with a certain charm all of its own. The Dungeon lives up to its name, with a dark, forboding interior, but with just enough lighting to keep it fun and entertaining. The bar is small, but the seating is plentiful, and a Pool table is perfect entertainment. Descend down further into The Dungeon, and you’ll find yourself on the dance floor, head banging to the latest and greatest sounds in metal, power rock, goth, emo and pop music. The Dungeon also hosts theme nights, where dressing up is encouraged and also rewarded! For a fun night out, you can’t go wrong with The Dungeon!

Not quite as good as it used to be somehow, but perhaps I’m just getting old I still love the dungeon and it is my favorite club outside of Brighton. A variety of different nights cater to all alternative crowds, with a good bit of cheese thrown in on Fridays for fun. Drinks are pretty cheap if you drink the right thing, and they often have promotions. Most Fridays they have a themed/​fancy dress night with free drinks and prizes. Win.

This has a very specific clientele. If you’re a punk, rocker, goth or generally into the alternative scene then this is the place for you. It is very down to earth and friendly, not to mention offers cheap drinks. There is a fairly big garden area that gets very busy on the weekends and the place is open until late, although you need to get there before 1am.

A little bit tucked out of the way no where near town is the dungeon. Warning. this place is for alternative, punk, goth rockers who like congregating in a relaxed pub turned club away from the pretentious divas in town.
Handy of you’re a student and live nr portswood, this is almost on your way into town.
A small venue with 2 floors, best thinking of this as a corner pub with no windows and painted lots of dark colours.
It’s not my cup of tea, but nice to have somewhere catering for the needs of all types of clubbers!

Freaking love this club. One of Southamptons true goth/​punk/​alternative clubs.
You walk in and theres a bar in front, toilets to the left, dance floor on the right with a dj box, the downstairs another bar and another dj box! This place is proper gothed up and its a proper good atmosphere in here. Everyones friendly, the staff are friendly. A blood good night out. Plenty of places to sit. Hardly any fights ever started in here unlike other places in Southampton City Center.
Free to get in before 10, cheap night on a wednesday. The queue outside hardly ever gets more then about 10 people long which is good. Reccomend this club to any goth, punk, or alt.
