This is a relatively small H & M in Southend High Street, a new much bigger store is currently being fitted out in the Royals due to open Spring 2009. This will be a welcome relief as the current store has no wheelchair /​buggy access to the first floor where all the women’s clothes are. It is virtually impossible to carry a buggy up the narrow winding stairs, so no shopping in there for us Mum’s!
Having said that for small store the range of clothes is good, both for children and babies (downstairs) and women. The staff are pleasant and helpful although at busy times the queues can be long and slow with only 1 or 2 tills open. There is also a good range of accessories including underwear and hair bits and pieces.

this H&M is currently at the top of the high street near the Post Office but I believe it will be moving to a much bigger space inside the Royals shopping centre in 2009. This is definitely a good thing as the shop is currently far too crowded. H&M generally do a fantastic range of clothing and their underwear is beautiful but still cheap and affordable. This shop doesn’t really have the space to display everything. There are only two tills upstairs and two downstairs in the childrenswear department which means there are often very long queues.

Commonly known as H&M this high street store offers great fashion that is not to expensive. Great range of tops here, not so many accessories and bags though. Underwear is a disappointment as they stop at a D cup maximum! Aimed at people that are 20 something. Great range of baby clothes downstairs aswell which aren’t that expensive either but are in very close proximity considering most looking at these would have a pushchair or pram with them. Overall I would say that this is a great store and the staff are friendly and the clothes are H&M’s own range. Worth a look if you don’t have a pushchair!
