Baytrees

I would totally 100% percent agree with all the above comments. It is totally worth a visit for anyone who hasn’t been there.

Baytrees is a great attraction for the town of Spalding and surrounding areas.
They sell every outdoor garden product you could imagine, not to mention pets and the café.
Baytree is most known for its Winter Wonderland season during Christmas. The business has decorated grottos with tall light-​up trees and rides. You also get to see Santa!

Was soll ich sagen, wer über Weihnachten nach England fährt, sollte seine Kinder mitnehmen. Hier gibt es wohl das berühmteste Weihnachtsfest der Welt. Das ganze in einem Gartencenter — auch dass mit eines der größten der Welt. Aber nun zum winter-​wonderland bei baytrees. Ich schätze mal 1 — 2 dutzend WEihnachtsmänner beschenken und betuscheln die Kids. Kostet Eintritt und man sollte Zeit mitnehmen. Übrigens der Besitzer ist ein Deutscher — liebe Grüsse an Reinhard Biehler. Von daher wundert das Telefonhäuschen in Gelb nicht. WEr einmal genau schaut wird eine Menge anderer Dinge entdecken. Filmrequisiten, Alte Brücken, etc. Noch mehr? Ja, es gibt eine Eulenschau und viele freilaufende Tiere — also ein kleines Paradies für Groß und Klein.

We went here jsut before christmas, we took the children to go and see father christmas. they loved it.
There was a huge wait to see him though but when we did get to see him, it was definatly worth the wait, we went on a little train ride then we went on a little tour around looking at lots of christmas figures and it really is magical.
Wehen we did see father christmas, he made the visit so personal and so special for the children. We also got to feed the reindeers!!! and have our photo taken.
The actual garden centre is huge they do plants in every selection you could possibly imagine!!! espcially at christmas time they do sucha range of chiristmas trees, decorations (indoors and outside), lights and evrything else you could imagine!!!
They also have quite an extensive carpark

This garden centre has just about everything under it’s roof for your gardening needs. From indoor plants to a seasonal section, which becomes a perverbial lightshow at Christmas time. There’s a competent pet section which also deals in some common exotic pets; lizards, snakes and amphibians, as well as a reasonable aquatics section.
The place litterally sprawls, and it’ll take you a fair while to find all the nooks and cranies. Though the star attraction has to be the Owl centre, and for just £2.50 you can walk around observing everything from our own native Barn Owl to the impressively taloned African Eagle Owl. It’s no London Zoo but it’s worth visiting. Especially as at times you can even have a chance to pet one of the magnificent birds.
There is an eatery but it’s a little on the expensive side, and doesn’t offer a huge variety, but it does provide a place to rest weary feet.

Quite a nice garden centre, they certainly pack a lot into the place (and it is not the smallest garden centre in the world). If you get tired of looking at plants and gardening paraphenalia you can take a break in the café or look round one of the other outlets at the centre and if there is even a small Owl Centre you can walk round so it makes for a lovely day out.

This is the best time of year to visit Baytrees Nurserie and Garden Centre if you have children for it boasts one of the biggest grottos in Europe. Ive taken the children every year and never been disappointed. There can be extremely long queues at the weekend so I usually book a day off to take the children during the week. The lead up to see Santa is spectacular. A real Winter Wonderland! There is also a train/​sleigh ride. You can either pay just to walk around the grotto or you can pay for the children to meet santa, have their photo taken, receive a gift and a small fir tree which is a nice touch. You could visit this grotto a few times and always see something new it really is exquisite! As well as the grotto its worth having a wander around. They have excellent christmas decorations on offer or just to look t. There is also an opportunity to purchase carrots to feed the real reeindeer that they have there at this time of year. Its our family tradition to then visit the Baytree restaurant for our first xmas meal of the year. Overall a good ady out with the family.

This garden centre has been around for years. However, it never ceases to surprise. Their effort for santa and the kids is spectacular and it will be the place I take my little girl to when she’s old enough to understand what’s going on. Previous years they’ve had a train ride adn annimations as well as the event with Santa.
The centre itself has everything from tools, outdoor paint, furniture, water features, creatures, outdoor plants, indoor plants, gifts and more. Its a great one stop shop for the house /​garden plant and equipment wise.
There is also a restaurant and it also boasts an owl centre. Its well worth a visit.
