I have tried most of the hairdressers and barbers in st albans and without doubt the staff at chaps do give really good haircut at a fair price. There is often a que, thats what happens when someone does a good job, they become popular and busy, but it is well worth the wait. Opening on a Sunday is a really good idea and very helpful if you work late all week in away from the city. Unlike some hairdressers where everyone gets the same cut but it is dried in a different style, come on you know what I mean! Chaps give you a haircut just how you want it.

Just around the corner from my house this should be my barber of choice — sadly this is not the case. It looks very modern and has a feel of a proper saloon. Obviosuly it’s a bit more than a barbers as they do style and cut hair for the modern metro sexual. This however is where things can fall down. I don’t know about other men but I like to have my hair cut/styled and then leave. I have been to Chaps twice, had a good haricut from a different stylist each time but it has taken ages. The last time I went I was in there two hours — I have no clue why it took so long as my hair looked no different to how it does when I go to a traditional barbers. I also find for the area it’s expensive. I now use a barber in Fleet Street therefore I am paying city prices. My city barber is cheaper than Chaps!
