All around excellent. Comprehensive menu and competent service. Worth a special journey. Many menu items are locally sourced and skillfully prepared. Nice views from garden if you happen to be there on a pleasant evening. Book ahead if you have a large number of people in your party.

What a charming country pub! More than worth the bracing walk from St Austell (there are apparently buses that pass nearby though). I’d love to live near a place like this. The staff were really amiable too. Proper Job, HSD, Dartmoor, Tribute, Bucket of Blood. Lots of choice. And the Sunday lunch is justifiably popular. No phone reception, but they have Wi Fi

Had a lovely time in here on holiday, visited twice only for a drink in the evenings and the pub was warm and cosy. We were served by a lovely lady and were very satisfied with the service there. Will try the food next time :-)

Food is fantastic. Loved this pub, it’s how a pub should be. Bar staff were really friendly.
The Polgooth Inn does get quite busy in the evening so booking a table may be a good idea!
Can’t wait to revisit this pub next year!

I have used this country pub for over 10yrs, I find the staff very friendly.
the food is outstanding and good value. Being a local tradesman I always recommend this venue to all my customers and holidaymakers staying at various holiday resorts for whom I work.

First visit. The ales are all fantastic, the service is friendly and efficient and lastly the food is generous and spot on!
