The Stackpole Inn

Have visited this pub on several occasions and have found that the food is vey good. The prices are ok as well. If you can book in for a speciality night then you get excellent value for money. £15.00 per head for 6 courses. The staff are very friendly.

Quite an expensive meal (£150.00 for 4 — no drinks) and side orders of vegetables were quite meagre! But, on the the whole a great evening. Only downside was the poor quality of the Vegetarian options — just not good enough!

We were staying in Pembroke Dock for one night and didn’t know where to go for dinner, and by luck heard about the Stackpole Inn as a good place for dinner.
We phoned in the late afternoon to see if they can seat us and was told that they are fully booked but if we come down around 8 they could probably seat us.
The drive was about 15 minutes from Pembroke Dock through some twisty but quiet roads. As the name suggests, the place is an inn so there are guests taking up most of the spaces in the car park. Nevertheless we tucked our car in the corner and headed to the bar, where we were greeted with happy smiles and told that there will be a table for us soon. In the meantime we whetted our appetite with «guest draught of the day» which included a Black Dragon Welsh Cider at 7%+ alcohol content but went down very smoothly.
The menu consisted of fresh seafood from catches of the day, so it changes daily. We both had (different) whole fish which was fresh, delicious, and filling with sufficient sides, even if presentation wasn’t great. An a la carte menu is also available.
The décor is simple and pleasant. I cannot comment on the accomdation itself as we did not stay at the inn overnight, but I would imagine it to be very handy after a nice meal.
Overall, I recommend this restaurant highly even if you have to drive a bit of a way to get there, especially if you like local cider and fresh seafood.
