Went to Easy Fish on Saturday 20th February. It was my first visit and came highly recommended by acquaintances. There were four of us and we arrived at 20.00 for a 20.30 booking, so started off with a bottle of wine at a side table. We were shown to our table at 20.30 and had placed our order by 20.45. The first course arrived at 21.05 which was no problem. However the main course did not arrive until 22.05 and the waiting staff offered no explanation or apology for the delay. When one of the staff noticed I kept looking at the kitchen he came over and said your food is coming… to which I could not resist saying…‘and so is Christmas’. So for an objective rating; Menu Choice — Good Prices(Food) — Highish Prices(Wine) — For what you get expensive Standard of Food — Very Good Atmosphere — Non Existent(glad we went with another couple or would have been bored rigid) Service — Frankly appalling and overly casually dressed staff for £250 bill(including wine during extended delay between courses). Would I return — notwithstanding the tasty food — NO

I can not fault anything even the little details of serving hot milk with the coffees, and lemon in the water. From start to finish the food the service was 5 star! A great find and back again!

Easy Fish Co is a fantastic shop down in Heaton Moor, a real gem where you can buy lovely fresh fish, chat with the different fishmongers about the quality of their huge array of fish and stock up on some tasty treats to take home for cooking! We bought some lovely sashimi grade tuna which we were using for a tuna tartare wasabi Gizzi Erskine recipe(get looking for it online — amazing!) and also picked up some tasty hake which went down well with some homemade chips. As we keep seeing it it in recipe books we also picked up some squid ink sachets to take away(not bad for £1) — all the fish came to about £12 which was pretty good for 4 main meals and enough bits to keep our toddler/cats happy with the scraps. They also sell fresh bread and a number of deli items — plus there’s a restaurant that’s just opened up in the back which obvs sells great fish, we really must get there soon!

Great independent fishmonger in Heaton Moor that seems to know what it’s clientele want. Possibly the smartest fishmonger i’ve ever visited, it’s clean, bright and shows off their catch perfectly. There’s a couple of units selling ingredients to go with your fish, including sushi paraphernalia, a decent wine selection and bits to grab and eat straight away like rollmop herrings(if you’re that way inclined). We bought salmon and tuna here, both were good enough to eat raw, which we duly did, I’ve also cooked the salmon here and found it to be unctuous. Prices do reflect the quality, a piece each of tuna and salmon(enough for a v. large sushi platter for 2) cost around a tenner, but if you consider it would have cost 4 times that much in a restaurant it’s not a bad deal. Fish this good is difficult to find in Manchester, as it seems mancs aren’t the biggest seafood fans. It would be a pity to lose great little vendors such as these guys, so go out and eat some fish, it’s quick to cook, healthy and delicious!

I’ve used this fishmongers on several occasions and every time I’ve found them to have a great range of very fresh fish and be extremely helpful. Their stock tends to be as local and seasonal as it can be and as well as the fish they also sell a small range of accompaniments such as fresh herbs, sauces and condiments. Unfortunately the café is no longer there but because of this is does mean that the shop stock has increased somewhat. The staff are just what you expect of a local fishmongers — friendly, polite and more than happy to advise on cooking methods or any other queries you may have, as well as offering to prepare the fish for you. With service like this you’d be mad to use the supermarkets.

I visited the café and the food was excellent, good value, well presented and using quality ingredients. The service was also very good and the staff are helpful and friendly. The café is at the rear of a fresh fish shop and deli which also sells very good quality fresh fish and other food. I have bought fresh fish from here and always found it to be excellent quality, however It was my first visit to the café but it definitely won’t be my last.
