The food was decent, went for lunch and they had a nice two course menu. The portions weren’t huge and the food was good, not great, but good. My husband commented that the burger was «at least better than Burger King» and my penne arrabbiata was nice but the sauce tasted and looked like it was out of a jar. I make pasta sauces from scratch at home so I expect at least the same from an Italian restaurant. The penne was also very overcooked. The salad that came with my meal was nice and the bruschetta I had as a starter was a nice, too. I’d try it again for an evening meal to see if the portion sizes for dinner are a bit more generous and maybe try a pizza or something else they can’t make out of a jar.
The service was alright, our orders were right but the waitress seemed quite indifferent. We did wait far too long for a drink order so by the time it came my husband had already finished his meal and had to gulp down a £3.50 shandy. They were also out of Diet Coke, the only low calorie option was water.

Family orientated restaurant. The kids meals offer good value. They get a drink, including a choice of cocktail such as dinolicious apple and blackcurrant over crushed ice. For mains there are pasta including spag bol and pizza, or burger and fries. Also order a free side of veg or salad. The goody bag is decent with a toy, puzzle book and pencils to occupy them,
Adult mains are pizza, pasta, burgers, salads around 10 pounds for a main course. They are fine rather than spectacular. There is a nice atmosphere with 50s music and theming. Staff here are very prompt and friendly, nothing is too much bother.

Frankie and Bennys is your typical francise Italian Style resturant. It is very much family orentied and if you don’t have kids is far too noisy on Saturday and Sunday afternoons. Evenings are a little better as the noise is adults talking and drinking rather than screaming kids.
It goes along the cheap and cheerful route but can be a little expensive especially if you add alcohol.
My niece and nephew (5 & 6) love going here on a Saturday afternoon and the kids menu is a mix of tasty and healthy food — if it wasn’t for them I would never go weekends as its too noisy with too much going on for me to enjoy a meal and the staff don’t work as well when it is busy as they don’t seem to be well trained and often make mistakes with orders or just take a long time. Ocassionally on a busy day we have been served by 4 different people so I am suprised when they get the orders right. Not my favorite of the francises available on Teesside park
