ECU Express

I bought an ECU for my vauxhall astra from these guys around 4 months ago. When I purchased the ECU, I was promised a full refund if the ECU turned out not to be the problem, etc. Normally Andy doesn’t offer this refund policy, but since another competitor offered it and I quoted his offer, Andy decided to promise me the same refund offer. Up until I sent the money to Andy via paypal, the customer support was very good, always there to answer questions etc. After the money was sent, all of that disappeared. It turned out that the ECU was not the problem on my car. When I tried to contact Andy for support installing the ECU (the instructions were useless) and after I discovered the ECU was not the issue, he always seemed to be busy or «just leaving the office» whereas before he was available to help almost any time of the day. When I finally got him to talk to me, he unhappily agreed to refund me when I returned the ECU. So I promptly send the ECU back and assume I will be refunded. A few months go by and I after checking my paypal account I realise I never got refunded. God dammit Andy now I need to get you on the phone again if that’s even possible. Same spiel as last time, but after waiting a weekend to get him to talk to me, he admits he remembers me and says he will refund me since he «forgot» to do so last time. Great. Well a few days later I check the paypal account. He’s refunded me just over half of my money. Awesome, time to call Andy again. When I get him on this phone again he explains with his usual bad attitude that he deducted shipping costs as well as what it cost him to have the ECU processed. I protest but he says that despite what he explicitly promised me he would not refund me «out of pocket». I’m sure postage and whatever he paid his boyfriend oh I mean mechanic (he sounds like a fairy) was far less than the 100 quid or so that he stiffed me. The man is tighter than a ducks ass. When I pressed him on it, he even admitted that he outright lied and was going against his word. He said he didn’t care. I call him the next day after I have some time to cool off and press the issue again. After threatening to write bad reviews about his business, he begrudgingly gives in and agrees to refund me the rest of my money in a few days after he takes in some payments probably from someone else he scammed. A few days come and go and no payments whatsoever. Its not been a few weeks and I have decided to give up. I promised I would write a review on his company if he didn’t hold up his end of the deal, so here it is. Please for my sake and your own don’t give this company your business. Their word means nothing and they are in it solely for the money. Take your money elsewhere and good luck with your ECU troubles.
