I’m not a religious man but if there is such a place as hell, this is it! Based on the American-​style all you can eat for x ethos, this place attracts the waddling obese in epic proportions. There is a vast array of old, heat-​lamp-​dessicated food to look at before you finally decide you dare not risk eating any of it, for fear of ingesting the lard-​laden sweat that’s dripped off the hands of the pie-​taster in front of you in the queue. It is truly a (disgusting) sight to behold as you watch piggy after piggy return to the buffet area for more and more tasteless funk to shovel down their 40 inch necks. To be fair, the staff were pleasant but they must have done something fantastically horrible in their previous lives (note: previous lives are not possible) to end up working in this god-​forsaken cesspool, being forced to constantly look at the walls of flesh as they walk through both front doors. A disgusting experience in my life that I will never repeat. I would rate minus infinity, if it was allowed. My wife likes Taybarns.

I grew up in Stoke on Trent and got out as soon as I could. So when I heard about the Taybarns phonemenon and decided to try one out, it was with dread that the Stoke branch came up as the closest to the part of Cheshire I live in.
Oh well, I thought, nothing ventured, nothing gained. The first good thing about Taybarns in Stoke is it isn’t! It’s near somewhere called Talke off the Potteries «D» Road (otherwise known as the A500). Cue poor joke: «How do you get a monkey to talk (e)? Answer: Put him on a bus a Burslem» Sorry!
I’d heard horror stories about queues, yet I was amazed to turn up on Sunday at 1pm to find space on the car park, no queues and plenty of tables to sit at. £8.49 each and you are away.
The choice of food was excellent. Highlights include the battered fish, the carvery and the chilli (although the latter did run out). And a lot of the food appeared to be home cooked, the main exception being the soup, which I saw being poured out of a big pre-​heated bag.
A word of advice: The top-​up as many times as you like fizzy drinks are best avoided. They are gassy to the point of making you bloated after just one. Best stick to a glass of J20 or another still drink and you will get your monies worth out of the food.
I managed three starters, two main courses and a dessert and drove back home very contented. And my normally hard to please teenage daughter was enthusing about the feast she had too.
I did n’t expect to like Taybarns Stoke, but I did. Recommended!

Taybarns open a couple of years ago and its fantastic, you pay one fixed price and you can eat as much as you want.
The food ranges from soup, salads, pasta, fresh veg and many other items suitable for all.
However the only thing you have to pay for seprate is your drinks and if you choose to have a soft drink e. g coke you can have as many refills as you like.
You have access to clean plates and cutery all the time and when you have a dirty plate the staff are always there to clean them away.
The staff there are really friendy and they also do a lot for charity.
I would also like to add that there christmas dinners are cheap aswell £25.00 for adults and £15.00 for child and again thats eat as much as you like but the menu is diffrent then any other time as its more festive.
If i had to rate this i would give it a ⁹⁄₁₀
