You always need a place to go, to get alterations made to garments that you purchase which don’t always fit perfect when you buy the garment. There was one dress I bought in a mad shopping spree while out in Birmingham town.
It was one of those purchases you often regret buying afterwards but when a friend who lives in Sutton Coldfied told me about Flair Designz, I thought I’d give it a try and see if they could alter my dress. Basically the problem with the dress was that it was too long so I needed it to be made slightly shorter and I wasn’t about to take it back to the shops because I loved it that much.
When I found out that they could take the dress in, I was over the moon. Especially when I got told the price, which was £25! I’d received much more expensive quotes from other alteration/​tailoring stores that this was a dream come true.
Their service was professional and they did the alteration on time. Plus when I got the dress back it was done to a splendid standard, so I was really pleased with the outcome.

I often buy clothes both modern and vintage that I think need a tweak here and there to either fit better or to customise it more to my liking. Most of the time if i just want to shorten a garment or change the buttons I can do that myself other times I leave it to the professionals and this is where I go.
I bought a lovely 1950s style reproduction dress which needed the straps shortening to make the dress hang better around the chest area. As the material was quite thick and had a large pattern I needed someone with more sewing expertise than myself so I headed in the direction of this shop. I went in and explained to the lady what I required. I then had to go into the changing room and put on my dress. The lady then folded my straps into position and tacked them into place with pins.
I went back a few days later to pick up my dress and when I tried it on it fitted like a dream. It cost about £8 for the amendment. They were prompt and professional. If you’re not handy with a sewing machine and you need some alterations doing on your clothes why not pay a vist here.
