This pub does NOT welcome children. On a recent visit (Boxing Day 2009) we were thrown out (yes thrown out!) by the proprietor because our party had two pushchairs. She was offensive and rude and physically removed our pushchair (belonging to a 3 week old baby) out into the rain. The pub was almost empty and there was plenty of room to safely store two folded pushchairs. There is much more we could add…
So if you have children in pushchairs don’t go there — there are many more suitable pubs nearby.

The Trout and Tipple Pub, is located on Parkwood road, just a minute away from Tavistock town centre. The pub is independantly managed, and sells a good range of real beers and ciders. The pub has regular mini beer festivals throughout the year. The pub serves food lunch times and evening, all food is freshly prepared and the pub will only use the finest of ingredients, at the front of the menu is a list of local suppliers. The pub has a seperate dining room, a games area, open fires in the main bar area. The pub welcomes dogs and children. I would highly recommend the Jail Ale, which is brewed on Princetown, on Dartmoor.
