Took my mother here for a Mother’s Day treat(the day before because it was fully booked already on the Sunday). The service was excellent and very helpful — mum has mobility problems and the staff were really supportive. The set menu was very good value and really well cooked. The view from the windows is lovely and we had a most enjoyable time. Would definitely recommend for lunch and we will be back soon.

Had the most amazing unplanned evening here last night. The restaurant is impressive, a large modern open plan restaurant and large bar with conservatory overlooking the river Thames at Teddington lock, welcoming you to a friendly, decorated interior. If anything it is off the ‘main beat’ of the High Street, but certainly not out of reach, although it maybe suffers from ‘out of sight, out of mind.’ The staff are equally friendly and welcoming. On the dot our waiter, introduced himself to us and shows us to our table. The menu reads well, offering a good choice without overpowering you or using foodie ‘jargon’. For starters, we had Shetland Island Mussels«Marinière» and had Roasted Rump of Lamb & Rib Eye for our main course which, was done as per our request medium rare. The food was truly out of this world and is a «must have» when visiting this place and goes perfectly with Argentina(Pinot Noir). Overall, food and service was excellent. Our request for a waterside table was graciously accommodated. Service was attentive without hovering. Excellent service!

Not usually one to give a Restaurant a poor review but after the afternoon/evening we had at The Wharf I feel it’s my duty to warn people about it. Let me start by saying the food was ‘OK’, nothing to shout about but nice. The small portion size was a a bit of a problem. I was left still hungry after their Roast Rump of Lamb, there were no side dishes. The location of the Wharf is really nice. Just by Teddington Loch so you can watch the boats on the Thames. The dining area is floor to celling glass so everyone gets a good view. The service was absolutely abominable. For want of a better word the waiters were ‘snooty’ and very unobliging. We were a party of five. Myself and three others arrived first. We were asked weather we wanted to sit at the bar or go straight to the table, so we opted to go to the table. The Waiter then proceeded to put the menu’s on the table, walk away and never come back. No offer of drinks while we wait, it took me to get up and get a waiter to be served some drinks. When the rest of our party arrived, exactly the same thing happened. After we finally had our drinks we started browsing the menu. The Waiter then appeared again to tell us the kitchen was closing in 15 minutes so we needed to order now! I enquired later as to why you would take a booking for 5 at a time when the kitchen was about to close and the received the response of «most of our patrons order quickly»… The final nail in the coffin for the evening was the fact that we were offered no choice of desert and then were rudely ushered off the table so they could clear away. We headed down to the bar and an hour later I noticed the same table was still unoccupied. So avoid the Wharf like the plague. The location at Teddington lock is lovely but you will be treated like you’re a nuisance, not a paying customer. I hope this review has help steer you off the idea of having dinner at the Wharf.

Food: the wharf serves pub food but aims for a higher standard than your average pub. & a higher price of course. which is why i’m left with a feeling that for the £30+ per head(without wine!) I spent there i should have gone to a proper restaurant. The menu is dull & familiar, it doesn’t seem like there is a ‘chef’ here, more of a committee looking for the lowest common denominator. the quality of the food was bad, meats were fatty, the beef was full of gristle. They were carved too thickly also. Over cooked & under cooked at the same time. I was very disappointed to be charged £3.50 for 6 small slices of stale baguette & a tiny pot of ice cold olives. what a rip off! Location: the wharf has a great location, right by teddington lock. on a sunny day you can’t ask for more. watch out on weekends though as clearly the place is popular so they have resorted to a «pack them in» approach to managing demand. The tables are tightly packed together. Also there is a function room upstairs which I imagine is very popular with wedding parties. There was a party on the day we visited & although I was happy to see the wedding guests having fun. The noise was an intrusive distraction to our own meal downstairs. Service: Maitre d’ was professional & attentive to the extent that he could be although my sense was that their main focus was on clearing up & going home after a very busy day. Conclusion: If you want a nice location & don’t care too much about the food or the costs then the Wharf could be a good choice.

The Wharf is a lovely contemporary restaurant in a great location overlooking the Thames. The food is a fusion of modern European and vibrant Asian cuisine. The glass frontage means all diners get to enjoy the fantastic views and there is a stylish bar to enjoy a pre-dinner apéritif or cocktail. The waiting staff are charming and the service is prompt.
