There was quite a bit of a wait the evening we came here for dinner but we stuck around to give it a try. The ‘all you can eat’ salad bar left a lot to be desired and I was hard-pressed to find more than a couple of items worth even trying. The salad itself was scarce and browning so I gave it a miss.
The meal was okay… we opted for no sides so we were simply presented with a plate with a few ribs on it. The sundaes that came for desert were fantastic and were a nice finish to the meal.
The service wasn’t all that great. Our waitress just didn’t seem to be all that interested in her job and couldn’t even bother to make eye contact with us. It was obvious she didn’t care.
With all the other options in Torquay, I’d spend the extra dosh and go somewhere else.

Normally good service. Not tonight it was awful
No pump drinks so every drink had to be purchased at normal price per drink
In 3 courses no one even once came to ask was everything ok and my glass was empty for an hour with no one offering did I want another
Then to top it all off I was sat waiting for 35 minutes with empty glass and empty dessert bowl for someone to come over so I can pay the bill
Normally good service here but tonight was a real shocker

You don’t expect fine dining at a Harvester, and you don’t get it! But, for the price they charge, it is good value for an easy option. The staff who served us were lovely, and the service was quick and problem free. We had the mixed grill, and a couple of drinks, all for less than £25 for two of us, which you can’t really complain about! Don’t eat in Harvesters often, but this was a good experience and I’d go again when next in Torquay.

harverster is a place where what you see is what you get, not fine dining but just nice food at reasonable prices, the thing that really makes it special is the location, if you can get a window seat, you can enjoy the harbour views and a sunset.

Formally a brewers fare now a harvester, seems to moved forward in some areas and fallen back in others,
food is great, (exellent value for money)
service is poor
kids play area was dirty
and seems to be not catering for a family unit so much.
