China Red

This is a lovely restaurant as it is relatively new the décor is superb, the staff are friendly but I have experienced slow service in here. The food is lovely but can be a bit pricey and the ambience is great. Give is a whirl

China red is a gorgeous place to eat; the shiny lacquered ceiling gives it an elegance that other places don’t have. I’d recommend booking as it gets busy; weekdays are nicer as while it can be busy, it’s not as hectic as a weekend. We just ate there on a Saturday for my birthday and it was packed, as a result we had longer to wait for the food, the service wasn’t as attentive as it can be and we found it hard to sit and chat due to all the other large parties in there. When it’s quieter, it’s a lovely place to eat, a wide choice of meals with vegetarian options. Prices aren’t cheap but you tend to get quite good portions per meal and the quality of the food is good, some of the flavours are unbelievable.

The food in here is nice and the service is fast but it is not the best chinese I have ever visted and the drinks menu is limited.
The restaurant is in an ideal position to visit at the start of a night out as there are numerous nice bars near by in Stockton Heath for afterwards.
They do Karaōke on some nights which seem to be busy but I haven’t visited one so can’t comment on what they are like.
They cater well for large groups as they have a fair few large round tables making it an ideal place for a works night out.
However my pet hate about China Red is the fact that you cannot see whether the restaurant is busy without walking up the stairs and the waiter is normally waiting at the top for you with a menu making it diffiicult for you to change your mind. I do not like eating in an almost empty restaurant, I much prefer a bustly atmosphere so the sheer fact that I cannot judge whether it is busy puts me off visiting this restaurant.
