Large & Large Opticians

Over the many years I have received fantastic service fom this practice. The receptionist always greets me with a smile and mr and mrs large always look after me. the range of spectacles is varied and my eye examinations are always thorough. thank you large and large!

I went to Large & Large for about 11 years, and they’re okay for ordering glasses, as they have a wide range of both high-​street brands and high-​end designer ones. They like to give discounts to regular customers, and the staff are extremely friendly. However, the receptionist is quite the dud — for over 7 years I regularly ordered the same types of contact lenses (Acuvue) every month, and each time she would either order the wrong power lenses, the wrong amount, the wrong colour or the wrong brand. Sometimes the lenses would even be broken.
After a while the contact lens supplier (an external supplier) said he would accept no more returns, so I was stuck with many the wrong brand/​broken lenses etc. The final straw was when the receptionist ordered Focus Dailies, a brand I’d never even tried or mentioned, and both she and the manager had the nerve to tell me that this brand was what I’d been ordering for the past 7 years every month! I showed them receipts and previous empty boxes of my Acuvue orders, but the receptionist stuck to her story but then apologised. Since then I’ve been with Vision Express, who order my lenses and deliver them within 3 days. I’d have to wait at least a week at Large & Large, and it would take up to three weeks because of delays due to the receptionist’s idiocy and incompetence. Avoid ordering contact lenses from here!
