The Gallery offers high quality original artwork through mixed exhibitions, one person shows and an annual Original Prints Show featuring original artist’s prints such as etchings, woodcuts and linocuts. Specialities include contemporary landscapes in all major media, sculpture including amazing inlaid creations exclusive to the gallery and original prints. Details of featured exhibitions can be found on the website. The Calder Gallery is delighted to offer the Arts Council sponsored Own Art interest free loan scheme for the purchase of original work.

History

Established in 2005.

The Calder Gallery is run by husband and wife team, Phil Withersby and Sue Allinson, who searched for a special place in which to open their business after teaching for many years. When they found themselves in the charming West Pennine town of Hebden Bridge they immediately knew it was the right place to open their gallery. It is a vibrant, busy and creative town where there always seems to be something special happening! In an informal and friendly atmosphere Sue and Phil offer a personal service that aims to be both knowledgeable and relaxed.
