A friend and I visited this pub for a drink after a Chinese last night (Thursday) at 22:45. All the regulars were ordering shots at the bar, but when we asked for a drink the landlady told us she’d called ‘time’ and wouldn’t serve us as it was drinking up time. I have never encountered a town centre pub that closes at half ten on a Thursday. The way she went about delivering this bad news to us while busy serving her regulars left us feeling like we weren’t wanted in there so we went to The Nut Tree instead where the barmaid was friendly, welcoming and happy to serve us a drink. I won’t be going back to The Woodspring again.
