This Starbucks store in Wigan is a nice branch in a good, central, city centre location. My visit here didn’t get off to a good start, as they don’t stock the places mugs I like, they refused to give me a discount on their Gingerbread flavouring syrup which remains from Christmas and they had run out of the Colombia espresso. The barista resisted my negotiations of a discount. I ordered a Cinnamon Latte with cream and I did enjoy my drink, I would of prefered it to be a touch warmer, but it wasn’t so cold to warrant sending it back. The other people in my party got a Triple Hot Chocolate with it being BOGOF with a special offer when you say their hidden phrase«We love Chocolate» They is charging sockets in the store but they isn’t many, they is so little that I got a girl wanting to charge her phone at my table, I didn’t mind but it would be nice to see a few more spread around the store. This is a large store, with normally a large queue and the numerous seats being close to full. I didn’t notice any gluten free cakes or sandwiches yet again in a Starbucks store, it makes me doubt they still do a gluten free wrap and brownie. The barista who served me, appeared to be more serious than friendly and a laugh. This store has free wifi, but as I was sat very far away from the enterance, I could not even pick it up, which adds to a dissapointing wifi signal of which is really intermittent in central Wigan. I feel this store deserves 3 stars as the drink I had was nice but the staff could be friendlier and I feel they should have more stock of the new colombia espresso and perhaps slightly more seating as it seemed really busy on my visit, maybe something to help them cope with the high demand and large queues could help improve the store, however I feel three stars is a fair rating for this store as despite the noticeable flaws, it is a nice store.

Seems to be a very very quiet Starbucks this morning, maybe the pound bakery across the way is too much competition! Nice vibe for a café in Wigan! But music is a little too loud for the morning, with Starbucks you get the choice of extras like special coffee or syrups(normal or sugar free) and whipped cream. Once you have your drink you can add extras such as cold milk, cinnamon, sugar but also vanilla as well. Just don’t let small children near the cinnamon as it will not be a good outcome.

I guess you either like Starbucks or you don’t. I happen to like it. There is an extensive choice of drinks on the menu, and like another review mentions, if you don’t like coffee, there is still quite a lot to go at when it comes to getting a refreshing drink. Through my friend’s daughter I discovered the frappuccino drinks, and the mango and passion fruit one has become a favourite. When I go to meet my friend there for a drink, we’re often in for 2 hours or more, and I find it a great place to just relax and have a catch up, without ever being hurried by staff. While it’s a busy place, you can still hear yourself think. Two monir points that lose them one star. You often need to ask to get your table cleared/cleaned, they seem a tad slow on that, but tend to it quickly and politely on request. The only other thing is the one tiny toilet. For such a busy place, one toilet to cover all patrons of both sexes seems at least one too few. Overall though, a place I look forward to going to.

Excellent value for money. Had a lovely Cup of tea in the Wigan Starbucks during a recent shopping trip. It is situated at the top of a hill very relaxing just sipping tea & watching other shoppers. My husband & daughters had coffee, Milk & fresh orange juice & thoroughly enjoyed them. Good choice of alternative drinks if you are not keen on coffee.
