One, in a previous complaint I mentioned they make you pay out of pocket for all damage done to a rental car while under their insurance — very illegal.
This complaint is now about the fact they denied my claim (of course they did) as they stated I was not 100 miles from my home. Firstly, they do not point this out while taking the insurance. My bigger issue is that I was 100 miles from my home. I was driving on a out of state drivers licsence and living in a temporary apartment month to month. I was in Los Angeles interviewing for jobs looking to settle here. I had not in fact officially moved yet.
My things weren’t even here yet, Because I stated that I needed the car to interview for jobs and run errands, they DECIDED that it meant I was not 100 miles away from home. Of course they didn’t think to mention this to me while they were asking the questions and selling me the policy. Complete fraud.

I took out a policy to cover a rental car for a week. I had to fly home to LA to work for a week, but left my car at our vacation place in Northern California, so I needed wheels. I took out a policy on Protect Your Bubble to cover the rental. On the last day of the rental, the underside of the bumper got clipped on the curb near my driveway. I returned the car and figured I would be covered by my policy. NOT. The $ 1200! repair bill from Avis was declined for coverage by Protect Your Bubble. Why… Somewhere in the fine print it says that you can’t use the rental car in your hometown, only for out-​of-​town travel… insane!
Beware of this company. I for one will never use them again.

I took out policies for two Apple devices on September 21^st. One for an iPhone 5 and one for an iPad 3. My credit card was charged immediately for both policies ($ 16.98). I got an email the next day stating my policies were suspended because of non-​payment. I was confused because my credit card had been charged. I logged on to my account to see what was going on and it indeed said my policies were suspended. Even more confused, I called customer service looking for answers and no one could give me any. They suggested I switch credit cards on file because they thought that might be the problem. I did and nothing changed. My policies remained «suspended» on my account even after numerous phone calls and e-​mails trying to get to the bottom of it. I finally canceled both policies on October 19^th, fed up with the lack of customer service and answers. I was assured I would get a refund because it had been less than 30 days and I hadn’t filed any claims. However, I checked my bank accounts on October 21^st, only to discover TWO of my credit cards had been charged AFTER I cancelled both policies. I called customer service twice and sent multiple emails and still NO ONE has responded to me about why my credit cards were charged or why I haven’t been issued a refund. I would not recommend this company at all. Their dealings are shady and no one ever has any answers as well as having piss poor customer service. STAY AWAY
