Wolverhampton Art Gallery

This is a lovely free museum right in the heart of Wolverhampton. Not just a rainy day attraction, it’s worth a visit in all weather!

Well worth a visit. Has regular special events and displays. Free entry, good café and local exhibits.

Despite being small Wolverhampton Gallary is still a nice little gallery & definitely worth a visit. There isn’t a huge collection of classic art, but there are usually some brilliant presentations of modern art & local artists. They also often offer some wonderful, moving photography diplays, I’ve discovered a lot of photographers through exhibits at Wolverhampton.
Wolverhampton is also excellent in terms of involvement & interactive displays, which combined with its smaller size make it an ideal gallery to visit with younger chlidren –my four year old daughter struggles round the BMAG but loves to visit Wolverhampton.
The Gallery café is also worth a mention: good food, always clean & tidy & child friendly!

The great thing about this art gallery is that you can pop in at lunchtime or for a break from shopping and just see a few things. They have a really good range of temporary exhibits and the new extension has provided more space to show some of the permanent collection. The new Pop Art gallery is interesting and a good introduction to art for kids.
It has really nice little shop with a great range of cards and gifts, great for finding something slightly different.

Have some lovely art on display here, good over school holidays as they have a lot of art activities on for kids best to check first, they also have regular exhibitions too. free entry nice place if only just to pass some time
