Another Worksop high street name which has been around since the early age of civilisation, Birds is actually a very good butchers, which stocks pretty much anything and everything you could hope to find.
Offering a personal touch which is missing in these times of supermarkets stocking everything under one roof, the staff in here are friendly, efficient and knowledgeable about the stuff they sell.
The range of meats is prety extensive — all manner of cold cuts and joints, sausages (including what they dub their ‘world famous tomato sausage’) steaks, mince and so on, either selcted from the counter or cut and trimmed to order.
It has the look and feel of an old fashioned butchers — the kind your grandparents would shop at long before progression moved to the high street, and thats no bad thing.
