The Old Police Station Café doesn’t look much from the outside and, overlooking a prison, the views from it won’t be to everyone’s liking. I had takeaway coffee which was £1.30. It was hot, but tasted like a cheap instant coffee brand.

This place ok but spoilt by sachets of prepacked jams etc. So home made cream teas very disappointing!

As a hillwalker of old, I can always sniff out a decent, affordable café to serve me chips & de-frost my bones. This was such a place. Clean, freshly prepared food and views of the Moor and prison. and does the prison look fearsome or what!!!

The Old Police Station Café, is based in Princetown, the café is located in the Old Police Station, it has been in the same family for about 30 years. The café also does a takeaway service, the location is very popular, with tourists, walkers and coach parties. The menu is very good, covering all tastes and times to eat, from breakfast, main meals, childrens meals, afternoon tea, scones, cakes, puddings, as well as daily specials board. I can highly recommend the pineapple fritters in syrup and for an extra treat add on the clotted cream. The service is great the staff are really friendly and will always recommend if you are undecided. There is a seperate function room upstairs, and at Christmas times they do a special xmas menu that can be prebooked for an evening out.
