This place isn’t cheap, but it IS good! I love love love the grilled crab and cheese. In nice weather you can dine outside on their super cute little patio. The staff is so nice too. They also serve wine, which is nice if you go later in the day and just want a drink with your meal. One of my favorites for sure!

Plain and simple. Just the way I like it. Prawns and Chips for me, Halibut and chips for hubby. Both were fresh and hot. Serve yourself but counter staff were friendly and helpful. Walking distance to our hotel made it very convenient.

In town for a concert at the d and r and wanted fish and chips. Glad we stopped on, they have really fresh fish here and the service was quick and friendly. $ 12.99 for 2 big pieces of halibut, fries and coleslaw! My daughter had a shrimp Caesar salad and loved it! Not a fancy restaurant but great for casual fish and chips at a reasonable price! Also they sell fresh fish, crab, clams and oysters and it all looked real fresh.

I had lunch here today, October 29, 2015. Excellent fried Washington state oysters. I’m from the South and I’m accustomed to Gulf of Mexico oysters but these Washington state oysters were really good — sweet and crisply prepared with a good batter. The counter service was very friendly and efficient. The dining area is small but I found a comfortable spot where I enjoyed a great view of the water outside.

I went here last summer with my family who lives nearby. I live in Portland and I’ve never found any place that has clam strips as good as this place. The clam chowder is to die for as well. My Father in law loves the fried cod. My daughter loved the crab sandwich. If they did steamer clams and stayed open for dinner, I’d give them 5 stars. Yum!

Found this little gem years ago when we made a round trip thru the state of Washington. Will stop again someday if we return to the state for another visit. My wife had the Fried Prawn Platter and I had the Fried Oysters. Both were very fresh and tasty! Order at the counter off the chalkboard and enjoy table side delivery. The only problem will be deciding which you enjoyed more if your partner shares. Enjoy!

Great sole and chip! Nice chowder too and great grilled crab and cheese sandwich. We ate outside on the water. Cool place while on the go.

What a hidden gem! While this place isn’t located in the most picturesque part of Aberdeen, the food is amazing(especially the double-crab grilled cheese) and the service is genuine and friendly. They have local beverages and homemade desserts.

Was a little alarmed when the register lady said, «are we recommending the oysters?» The grilled cheese and crab was delicious and the fries were awesome.

I had fried clams, my husband had fried prawns. Tender, not over cooked. No frills place but clean and fast.

The Breakwater Seafood and Chowder House located on the shores of the Wishkah River and near the Kurt Cobain Riverfront Park offers both fresh to-be-prepared-at-home and cooked ready-to-eat seafood. It is a spendy place for a little off-the-beaten-path-establishment, but not horrible. The overall feel of this restaurant is a little like Mel’s Diner meets The Old Man And a the Sea. With its nondescript décor and super sticky floors it’s a restaurant that uninspires on appearances alone. The staff was some combination of tolerant-pleasant and annoyed-frustrated. Depending on which one you talked with it was a crapshoot as to which personality you encountered. Adult Review: We ordered the Clam Strips and Chips and the Cod and Chips both served with Cole Slaw. The Cod is, according to one of the friendlier staff members, panko breaded in-house-it was cooked perfectly. It was crispy on the outside while remaining moist, flaky and not rubbery like some fish gets when cooked poorly. The fries were great too, sporting crunchy exteriors while maintaining soft insides. The Cole Slaw was a surprise! It was creamy and tangy with just the right amount of salt-usually restaurant prepared slaw requires additional salt at the table. This was slaw we could all agree was delicious. The Clam Strips and Chips were tasty as well, but the clams were a pre-made product(again according to the pleasant staff member) they ordered in from elsewhere(as are the chicken strips)-that was disappointing. Clam strips are some of our favorite seafood and when they are fresh and in-house battered they can be absolutely amazing! As we said earlier the floor was exceedingly sticky, so much so we found it difficult to slide our chairs across it. The bathroom was out of hand soap and in its place was an industrial size bottle of Dawn dish soap-odd! But the place was packed, both inside and on the outdoor deck area, so the floor cleanliness and hand-care products alone are not keeping this fisherman’s dream from doing a good clip of business. We felt the food was good, but if service is a deal breaker for you, then you may want to seek other places for your seafood options. Kids Review: The kiddos ordered the Clam Chowder and the Cod and Chips served with the Cole Slaw. The house-made Clam Chowder was creamy, smooth and hot and came instantly. It was delicious! The clams were cooked well without being rubbery. It got two huge thumbs up from the chowder connoisseur among us! The other one liked the Cod and Chips, but gave it no rave reviews nor a diminishing one. She decided it was just ‘okay’ although she did add that she had to admit it was flaky and moist and fairly tasty. Overall the Breakwater has the feel of eating at some hole-in-the-wall establishment on the wharfs complete with salty sea-weathered staff and tasty seafood. I’m from the south and know my fried shrimp. These were some of the best I have ever had. Also, I think there were 20+ in the basket! Halibut sandwich and chowder were great too!

Too bad food alone can’t save this place from terrible unfriendly service… I held off from my first initial review of this place becuase the food was good and I wanted to give it one more chance, sadly I was let down, again! Both times I visited this place I had such piss poor service I felt like I must of somehow non verbally insulted the woman taking my order. She barely looked at me when taking my order, never once smiled and made me feel like I was really inconveniencing her, even though it was early afternoon. Had some questions about some of the fresh fish for sale, ignored me once and then when she heard me didn’t seem to know much about anything in the case. I do like the food here and it is such a bummer that not once but twice I have had such bad service that I guess I will just give up on this place and go over to q-mart for some clam chowder.

We stopped in for a bite to eat, and two thumbs up! We both had the cod & chips, and nothing screams out good food better than light flaky breading, and fresh firm cod fish! Most of us would pass through Aberdeen, and just grab and go, with some pony big box stuff, but they are right off the main road, plenty of parking, great selection, great services, and reasonable prices.!!

I enjoyed the creamy clam chowder and the fried clams were good. Washed it all down with a deschutes stout. You order at the counter and take a seat with your number. Food came out quickly and everyone was friendly. We stopped in here on a road trip to eastern Washington and it’s a great stop for tasty food that doesn’t take too long.

I was driving aimlessly through Aberdeen looking for a restaurant to try. I JUSTHAPPENED to glance down a side street and saw this one. OK, already passed the street, gotta go up two blocks, turn around and come back. At this place, you order at the counter, they bring it to you, then you clear your own table. Ok, I ordered Cod fish and chips, and a side of clam chowder. The chowder tasted, well, one step better than Campbell’s canned. The Cod Fish and chips came with a small container of cole slaw, and I really liked the cole slaw better than the fish and chips. Not bad, but I ended up paying $ 14, which is way pricey for a lunch. There is outdoor seating, but was a bit cold today for that. If you are in an RV, NOROOMWHATSOEVER to park the RV. Nowhere. I came here in a car.

Small portions and expensive! The chowder tasted more of bacon than clams. The crab cocktail was good but tiny as eff for how much money it was. Also the folks weren’t the friendliest. Especially when I asked a question: I didn’t know what something was, got back no explanation beyond the name of the item. I wouldn’t recommend it.

First of all, the service sucks. No friendly smile, not even a «hello» when you walk in, just a glance over the shoulder, then another woman came and waited silently(and expressionless) until we were ready to order. We each ordered a basket — calamari and chips, and a breakwater combo which included prawns, calamari, cod, and scallops with fries. We were pointed to the cutlery… which is all plastic. Then got our drinks. It’s basically a glorified Long John Silver’s in a sketchy neighborhood with bitter women who could care less about their customers or losing their jobs. The server came and set our food down with a «here you go», while mixing up our orders, not that she knew — she was half turned around while giving us our dinner. The scallops were mushy and the cod were burnt. The calamari and prawns were good(hence the one more star that I’m reluctantly giving, to be fair)… but for over $ 30 bucks it was a horrible experience. I MIGHT order prawns or calamari TOGO in the future, but wouldn’t suggest eating in to my worst enemy.

Loved their creamy rich clam chowder. Bought fresh fish there too which made a fabulous seafood dinner for my friends!!! It was on Sunday and the staff seemed overworked though. They could have used an extra hand. Wait was a little long to get served. Kay M. Windsor, CA
