Specialize in alterations and custom sewing. From jeans to suits (men & women) to wedding gowns. From curtains to bedding. I try to cover all bases. Give discounts for wedding parties who will have their alterations done here, give discounts to repeat customers, who continue to use me. I do all the marking, pinning & sewing. It’s just me-​Bea!

I try to make everyone happy, not just the brides. I am particular about my sewing. I’m not perfect but pretty darn close! I try to be. Let me just say if I am not happy with the way it turns out, I don’t expect you to be happy, so therefore I want it looking great before you take it home.

Re-​hems on jeans. If you don’t like that type of hem perhaps you should try Bea’s re-​hems!

Re-​line coats, jackets, skirts, pants, dresses. Do you have old suits with wide lapels? Bring it to me, let’s get them narrowed! Shorten coats also. So come on in and let me take care of you.

History

Established in 2009.

I’m from San Antonio TX and in home-​making, what used to be called ‘jr. high” is where I was amazed with what I could do using a sewing machine. Tailoring was my major in college in the latter part of the 70’s! In ’82, I worked with a lady named Dang who taught me what I know about alterations. From that day on I wanted my own shop and many years later, Bea’s Alts was launched. She taught me how to do what I know today. In ’07 in Abilene, I worked in a bridal store where my skills were limited to gowns and formals only, but I needed to do something different in order for my purpose to be fulfilled.

That opportunity came and I’m still hanging in here. It’ll be 4 years in May.

There have been ups and downs, highs and lows, but I continue keeping my dream alive through my faith.

I just need you to continue coming back and those who haven’t used me, come on by and let me take care of your altering needs.

Born and raised in San Antonio TX. A daughter, a sister, an aunt, a great aunt a mother and grandmother (bum-​bum).

I love sewing, tennis, playing pool and selling AVON.

I really love making suits because the finished project continues to awe me when I examine it. In one of my books (in college) spoke of how the finished garment should look. It should look like the pieces were glued together, just smooth. That is the same approach I take with my altering, it should look like it wasn’t altered or look better than it was hanging on the rack. It should fit perfectly!
