My husband and I travel a lot and typically, when it’s business travel, we find a decent hotel to spend the night(s). This weekend, we were doing some work at the Bristol NASCAR race and since it was a last-minute trip, our hotel options were slim. I turned to Unilocal and found this amazing inn. Lucky for us, they’d had a cancellation and one of their three rooms was open. We arrived late on Friday after a long day, working at the track. Jennifer was there to greet us and our room was ready & beautiful. When we mentioned finding a restaurant for dinner, she got on the phone and quickly made us reservations at The Tavern. It’s incredibly difficult to get a table on a Friday night but Jennifer knows Max, the owner, and reserved us a spot. After dinner, we came back and collapsed on the comfortable bed. Breakfast the next morning was a treat. Pan-fried oatmeal, cinnamon scones and fresh coffee — all made perfectly by Jennifer. The day was beautiful so we opted to dine on the back deck. While we ate, we were entertained by a small herd of goats, sheep and a lone donkey on the hill behind the house. We enjoyed everything so much that we extended our stay and came back for a second night. Breakfast the next morning was even better. My husband had French toast and I went with the yogurt parfait and some sweet potato biscuits. Jennifer uses many of her grandmother’s recipes. Every dish is worthy of a high-end café, both for taste and presentation. Both days, she sent us on our way with wrapped slices of banana bread & a couple cookies. We can’t wait to come back to enjoy more of their hospitality. And the banana bread… From beginning to end, this could not have been a better experience. Thank you, Jennifer & Mike!

Jennifer and Michael Johnson offer their guests a quiet, peaceful respite that is nothing short of a little slice of heaven! Their home is situated on a beautiful piece of land with wide open views, and the smell of fresh grass and mountains surrounding. The property backs up to the river, and you can hear the calming sound of its waters while watching the sunset from the back deck. Jennifer is the quintessential hostess, with a warm and welcoming spirit, she easily makes her guests feel as if they are a part of her family. Each guest room has a private bath with all the luxuries! The b&b offers health conscious food options, including vegan and vegetarian options, an in-home gym with laundry service and even a sauna, and wow, Jennifer can cook! We arrived to a freshly baked loaf of homemade banana bread that was OFFTHECHAIN. For those who love the b&b experience, this is one that you simply do not want to miss — I can’t wait to come back and stay longer!
