Clarion Inn & Suites Atlantic City North

stayed this past sun night and it was a good experience, reasonably priced. First was met with a friendly front desk staff named Melissa. I requested for a top fl, away from elevator and highway room which i did receive. Also asked for dinner recomm. and she kindly suggested. Room was quiet and nice. The bathroom was a bit worn but usable. Bed was comfy but i would refrain from using the comforters though…
breakfast was nice had all we need: muffins, bagels, toast, cereal, waffle maker, oatmeal, fresh fruits, juice, coffee, tea, etc. The staff checked and made sure everything was stocked, we ate at around 9:30am and everything was still available (breakfast ends at 10). would recommend and stay again.

I called this hotel and spoke with the manager in January 2015 to reserve a block of hotel rooms for our wedding that October. The manager was very friendly, and assured me that the block was all set up and that a contract was not necessary. We were happy to have found a hotel nearby that was only a couple of minutes away from our venue, clean, and provided a shuttle to transport our guests back and forth from the hotel to the venue.
On 4^th of July weekend, the hotel called and informed me that they have cancelled our entire block, that there is nothing else they can do for us, and that I was responsible for contacting everyone in our block who had already booked their rooms. This is only 3 months out from our wedding and I now need to spend hundreds of dollars to reprint our invitations because I already had them printed with The Clarion’s information. We spent days scrambling to find a new hotel in the area that could host our block, which is now over 20 minutes away from our venue and will push back our ceremony start time and the timeline for the rest of the day. We are now also stuck with the cost of providing a $ 1500 shuttle to and from the new hotel for our guests because The Clarion was supposed to provide the shuttle for us originally. The Clarion had no remorse and no suggestions for helping to remediate the problem.
Booking our wedding block with this hotel was a total and complete disaster. We have called their corporate office in Rockville, MD and they have not been helpful at all in helping us resolve the issue. On top of telling all of our friends, family, and venders about this terrible service, we will be contacting the Better Business Bureau to report them.

First off, giving this hotel a star is already a joke! This hotel deserves NO stars!
On May 24, 2015 my friends and I came to AC to celebrate my best friends surprise 50^th Birthday! Little did we know the receptionist at the front desk was so unbelievably rude! The rooms that I had ALREADY booked in advance were unavailable. When I kindly asked her to put them next to one another, the lady began to yell at me. I then asked her to please show me some respect; instead she threatened me with the police. I told her to go ahead and call them, she then had said «shut the f**k up you white bitch!» WOW! I thought racism ended long time ago! Way to show your class as a manager to your customers!
In addition, during breakfast (after we thought our worst nightmare had ended), she would purposely vacuum between our seats and over our feet while we were EATING!
She had destroyed our entire weekend!
I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL TO ANYONE!!!

I really was not happy staying here and not in downtown AC, but once entering the lobby and checking in with the friendly attendant, it was a new story.
We walked up to our room and slide the card into the lock expecting the worst once that door swung open. THANKFULLY it was a beautiful room! It was very spacious, loaded with a mini fridge and even a microwave.
I threw myself on the comfy bed, and realized that if I was left there for too long, I would never actually leave the room. There is no gorgeous view and there is a short 12 minute ride to all the big casinos, but for the price and comfort, this is really a bargain.
After a fabulous night’s sleep we enjoyed a nice spread at breakfast that included cereals, eggs, hot coffee, fresh juice AND A WAFFLE MAKER! I will definitely look into staying here in the future, especially to avoid crazy casino prices.
PS — there is a shoprite a few blocks down the road in case you need to stay for a longer weekend and save some money on snacks or mixers.

Horrible manager! The worst customer service I have seen in my 40 years of travelling. The manager told my wife to pick up after ourselves in the pool before we even ever registered let alone go anywhere near the pool. She was also telling her new employee the she dies not care for any loud guests when she herself was being quite loud. It seemed to me that the staff working there were too scared to protest against this horrid manager. I wished the management of this chain of hotels would consider talking to this rude manager.

This is the perfect hotel of you want to save money! It’s clean and cozy and super cheap. The manager I forget her name ruins a tight ship and it pays off. Beds are clean and very comfortable. We had the room with the jacuzzi and enjoyed it! All rooms come with microwave and refrigerator. My friend stayed one night at Harrahs and they’re was no refrigerator in room and not one microwave in the entire building! I also had a friend that stayed in quality Inn up the street and their beds were very uncomfortable and the room was tight. So I we weren’t upset choosing this spot. Definitely will stay again

I’d like to give this hotel a four star rating but i will rate this based on customer service experience.
For the four star rating here’s my take:
— the rooms are decent and smelled with fragrant flowers when we entered our room. Rooms are spacious too
— i love their pool, although there’s no changing room but it’s ok.
— breakfast is ok.
Now why just 1 star? Here’s why:
— the front desk/​manager should NOT work in a customer service. She talks to people like you are in first grade.
— after we went to the pool, i changed to dy clothes and dried myself from the bathroom across the pool. There’s no shower room just an open shower inside the pool room so i wasnt able to take a shower. I just held on to my shoes when we walk back to our room. when we got to the elevator, she shouted something about being
rude! It’s like scolding a 6 yr old kid.
— the next morning, we went downstairs for breakfast, my husband was checking the waffle station but still checking what to eat, she immediately stood beside my husband and said, softly (talking about the waffle mix dispenser) it is as if my husband was a kid.

I love this hotel! Been going annually for 5 yrs now i think. Clean beautiful rooms! Wonderful, friendly staff! Breakfast is good. Good location! Heated indoor pool. I highly recommend it! There are alot of other options nearby cheaper. But you get what you pay for! Try this hotel, you wont regret it!

Staying here tonight and can’t sleep, so I thought I would Unilocal.Place is nice and clean. Very friendly staff. Got room with hot tub and the tub is pretty small but the room is spacious and nice. Would stay again and probably will.

We spent one night in the King Jacuzzi suite. The room was clean and the Jacuzzi was amazing! The staff was helpful and very friendly; I had forgotten my toothbrush and was given one at no charge, we also called the front desk because the battery in the safe was dead and it was promptly changed. The pool and gym were nice as well. Complimentary continental breakfast was offered from 7:00 AM until 10:00 Am.
This hotel is only about 10 minutes from the boardwalk!
The only downfall for me was that the pool closed at 10:00 PM. There was no lifeguard on duty so, I felt as though it should be open 24 hours. However; we will definitely be staying here again!

First off, the manager Sandra was fantastic. She was personable and helpful. Wonderful job, Sandra!
However, there were some big issues.
1) we found kids’ toys and an old (expired) bottle of margarita mix under a couple of the beds. So the cleaning staff obviously doesn’t do a thorough job if the mix had been there long enough to expire. And the beds don’t actually have an «under»; they’re platform beds, so these items from previous tenants we just caught up in the bed skirts or duvets.
2) the sign outside the fitness center says it’s open from 6am to 10pm. But at 6:40, my key card wouldn’t open the door. At the front desk, I was told, «We know the sign says 6, but it doesn’t open until 8.» Because I was already dressed in my gear, the man at the desk went ahead and opened it for me. Awesome, but why not at least put a paper sign up to notify of the new hours until a new permanent sign can be put up? Also, what hotel fitness center doesn’t open until 8? This means that, in order to work out, you essentially have to skip breakfast and take away from actual vacation activities. So I only got this one workout in during our trip. Bummer.
So $ 110 per night for a family suite would normally be an amazing deal, but not when the room isn’t truly clean and you have to choose between a workout and breakfast + time with your family.

Friendly staff, nice breakfast, clean, very nice experience for the price. Only downfall was the shower water took a little while to get hot enough.

This is a pretty good place to stay near Atlantic City — it def looks a lot nicer than the other motels nearby, and is a much better price than staying at the casinos. The lady at the front desk was extremely helpful (although she was really straightforward and intense, so I can see how some people might not like that), and both girls who worked the night shift and check out the next morning were really nice. I liked that they had a huge selection of mini liquor bottles and wines in the lobby for like $ 5 – 8 (sometimes you just want to chill and booze in your room!). Anyway, the room itself was clean and spacious, and I thought the modern glass top in the bathroom was a nice touch. Nice pillows too!
The only complaint I have (otherwise I would have given this place another star), is that got a small skin rash from using their face towels. I used the wash cloth with hot water, went to bed and woke up a short while later with a rash on my forehead. This kind of rash is due to bacteria in the towel (long story short, this happened to me once a couple years ago when I got a spa treatment, so I knew it had to be the towel). Anyway, the rash went away the next day with some prescription skin cream, but that was definitely pretty gross. Other than that, it’s a solid place to stay.
Also, re: transportation: If you’re planning to stay here and go into Atlantic City, make sure you have your own car. It’s only about a 10 – 15 min ride but the cabs here cost a LOT to get around — one guy charged me $ 45 from the AC bus station to the hotel during rush hour (!!!wtf I got screwed!!) and another guy charged me $ 28 from the hotel to the AC bus station the next morning (more reasonable, but still $$). Seriously, I spent more on cabs than my entire round trip bus tix to and from NYC…

I stayed in the Clarion Inn for 2 weeks in a suite in room 119 and was not happy with the Manager. When we first checked in we had to wait due to the Manger being on the phone. She made us wait until was finished with her phone call.
then I asked for new sheets to put on my sons bed and the Manager said that the sheets were already changed earlier and there was no one there at that to change the bed for me.
She also proceed to tell me that she did not like my tone in my voice I then told her that i would walk down and get the sheet myself. I have never had treatment of this nature in a hotel ever.
I would not recommend this hotel to anyone ever.

If I could give a worse rating I would. The woman at the desk was unbelievably rude and I actually felt threatened by her. The rooms were way to expensive and smelly. The vending machines were completely empty. When we asked for her to call us a cab she sent the clarion van and totally ripped us off. $ 80 to go less then 2 miles. When we tried not to use that cab she walked toward me like she was going to hurt me while yelling.

Since we planned our weekend getaway late, we found the Clarion Inn on the White Horse Pike, instead of our usual rooms in town at Atlantic City. We weren’t expecting much more than an average experience but we were delighted by the staff and the cleanliness of the room. Checking in was a snap and the people behind the front desk were both cordial and informative. Breakfast is available until 10 am and although we didn’t take advantage of a full meal, we were, however, very pleased to have a good cup of coffee after a late night out of gambling and fun. We would definitely consider coming to stay here again.

I am not much of a traveler, but I must say this is the BEST hotel experience I have ever encountered.
First of all, I am an extremely light sleeper. This is more or less the only hotel I have ever slept through the entire night. The bed was comfortable and plush just as requested. There were lots of comfy pillows and blankets as well. Not noisy or thin walls like Harrah’s and some others.
Spaciousness — The room is more spacious than the big pricey guys like Harrah’s and Borgata. You get a full size couch in addition to King Bed and clean bathroom.
Value — So I went on a Saturday night and the same night I paid about $ 100 here the Borgata or Revel would have cost $ 400+ for a similar room. Also get about $ 25 off through AAA and includes free breakfast.
Free Breakfast — Awesome. Good til 10AM and includes fresh waffles, boiled eggs, cereal, juice, pastries, coffee etc. Very large and nice continental breakfast.
Free coffee all day, grabbed a cup before leaving.
Honestly, Unilocal is a little behind on this one. These guys have 4.5+ stars on TripAdvisor, c’mon Unilocal

We were very pleasantly surprised when we stayed here on Friday night on our way to Atlantic City. It is literally just outside the main area, much cheaper than staying near the boardwalk, and actually very pleasant, quiet and spacious. It had free parking, and kind of fancy-​ish and expensive looking bathrooms for somewhere that was so cheap. We had heard this described as a «dump» before, and I will say it was very clean and nothing of the sort. We really enjoyed our stay here, even though it was short, and I would definitely go back there to save some money next time we are in Atlantic City.

The room
Spacious! Much more than I can say about the more pricey fancy hotels. The bed was so comfortable I slept through the entire night. Our room was facing the highway, to which worried my bf and I but after turning on the AC the road sounds went away. Nice bathroom with a shower/​tub. The TV had a good selection of channels, not that we had much time to watch TV but it kept us entertained while we ate our free breakfast!
The only downside, which is why I took off .5 stars, would be the lighting. The room was a bit dark even after turning on the main light.

Continental Breakfast
I was VERY pleased with the choices at the free breakfast. I have been to a few hotels with continental breakfasts and they have been your standard pastries, and cold foods like cereal and yogurt. Clarion impressed me with their waffle station where you pour the batter and serve yourself delicious waffles.
Clarion’s coffee (²⁴⁄₇) was pretty good too! I wish they had soy milk or a non-​dairy option but I didn’t expect that (I still haven’t found a hotel/​diner in AC that serves soy milk or a non-​dairy option).
Staff
I didn’t get too many interactions with the staff other than at check-​in and check-​out but that’s just fine! At both occasions they were pleasant and informative.

Interesting little hotel that is located along the strip of White Horse Pike $ 35 a night weeknight, and in some cases lower, holes in the wall where the places can venture from dirty and scary to dirtier and scarier.
We decided to make a last minute trip to the shore and I really wasn’t interested in all of the pretentiousness, fees, hassle, and smoke from a casino location so up popped this place on Hotwire.
After confirming via a few Internet sites that the price I was seeing was likely for this place and after reading some reviews here and on Trip Advisor I got the place for below $ 50 a night for a Tuesday and Wednesday night.
The staff we encountered overall were surprisingly very friendly, as our only other experience with staying at a hotel on the White Horse Pike led to a good stay but some unhelpful staff, and the room itself was as advertised being very clean and well appointed.
The reason why I cannot give this place five stars is totally based around the breakfast. Both mornings things ran out and no one came to refill anything with out being asked/​begged to come and refill the eggs/​bacon/​plates/​apple juice/​napkins that had all been out for quite a while.
Based on the size of the breakfast area and the lack of responsiveness from the staff with refilling things I can’t imagine what must be the train wreck that happens on busy weekends with the A.C. casino crowd.
That said overall the Clarion is a decent cheap alternative to the ripoff casinos that actually has standards and is well worth it.
