Worst service I have ever had. I have never done a Unilocal review because I am in the service industry and understand that things happen. Joan(older lady) is by far the worst server I have ever witnessed. She is rude and slow and the last 3 times I have been there my meal came out wrong. I don’t care how busy you are(which she was not) it doesn’t take 20 minutes for creamers. I will go back there but I will specifically request to not be seated in her section. She needs retraining or a new job. That is all

Bickford’s used to be my favorite breakfast place, though it seems now a lot of them are disappearing. The ones that used to be in North Chelmsford, Amherst in Nashua and Daniel Webster highway are now gone. But, it’s experienced changes. I really wish I knew the old way they used to make home fries, several years ago, because they don’t make them that way anymore– if anyone used to work there and knows please leave me the info. I also recall their omlettes being somewhat bigger as well, and good portion sizes, such as with the lumberjack breakfast.

Me and my girlfriend went here and it was gross. She got the fruit cup and it was dry looked and suspect. I got the Bostonian and the French toast was bland(no powdered sugar or anything nice), bacon and sausage was burnt to a crisp. Kinda hard to mess up eggs. Service was too fast which also is suspect and took forever to get my bill… Will not pay for that again.

Bickford’s seats customers at the back of their dining room near the kitchen and waitstaff areas. The seating produces a noisy atmosphere from the kitchen, waitstaff and a loud group seated near my table. During my meal the lights overhead flickered repeatedly throughout the dining room raising concerns voiced by both customers and waitstaff. The crepes with apples, sausage and syrup was served promptly. The crepes and sausage were tasty but the apples were awful.

When we want a good, simple, huge, old fashioned breakfast, this is where we go. Fluffy pancakes, crispy bacon, scrambled eggs and a tall cold cranberry juice make for a perfect Sunday morning. Piping hot coffee for my better half. It gets pretty crowded and service lags at times, but it’s not that bad. It’s a little out of our way, but it’s a nice change of scenery on a lazy weekend.

I went to Bickfords with my 4 year old son for breakfast and could not have been more disappointed. We were sat quickly, but it then took another five full minutes before our waitress came over(even though she walked past us about 10 times). My son ordered chocolate chip pancakes, I ordered buttermilk pancakes and a side of bacon. Our food took over 30 minutes to come out, and when it finally did I couldn’t believe how it looked. My pancakes were dry and lukewarm at best, and my son’s literally looked like someone picked up a giant handful of chocolate chips and shoved them into the pancake after they were already cooked. My bacon was okay, but it was served on a plate that had clearly just been used for something else, as there was cinnamon all over it and NOTHING we ordered called for cinnamon. Our waitress never once checked back on us, before or after we had our food. She finally came back over and said«anything else?» and dropped the check. I threw down cash and got the hell out of there. I get it, this isn’t exactly known for being a top-of-the-line place, but the front of house staff needs some training real bad. I’ve worked as a bartender for 5 years and I couldn’t believe the lack of customer service and the presentation of the food. I definitely won’t be back and I’d advise other people to stay away.

I took several of my kids here for lunch after mid-day doctor appointment. It was just okay. The food tasted like the freeze and reheat type, and the bread was nothing special. Servers were very friendly and attentive.

Have been going here pretty regularly for a number of years. I especially enjoy it because I am not a breakfast person; this place allows me to order lunch, while my boyfriend get’s breakfast. I contemplated 3 stars as the past three times we have gone they have messed up one of our orders in some way. The Pro’s * they have some of the best bacon cheeseburgers around(shocker I know)!! * onion rings are super tasty, though the quality is not consistent * the staff is friendly * service is generally quick The Con’s * the breakfast potatoes are raw & inedible * the 3 – 4 times they have messed up our order resulted in one of us eating alone while the other waited(2 times it took too long & I just took it to go). Only once did a waitress offer a complimentary dessert. I use to waitress & if something like this happened you comped a meal or at least took the sodas off the menu!

Another good experience at Bickfords. This time in Acton. Great big apple, cooked perfectly service good, little slower than you expect but very friendly. Quiet, no screaming children no loud music. Not sure why there aren’t more around.

I visited this place again and really enjoyed it. We had pumpkin pancakes, potato pancakes, corned beef hash, sausage, eggs, etc. The kids’ meals choices are good as well. Service was friendly. Seating is mostly booths. This place is the Nagog Plaza.

Flippin LOVED this place! The waitress was amazing, dynamic and friendly and the food was TERRIFIC. We’re Californians and our friends from MA said, «Oh, it’s like IHOP,» after we told them about our brekkie there. But it was SO much better than IHOP. We actually were going to a different restaurant we found on Unilocal, but that eatery wasn’t open for breakfast, so we just went to the Acton Bickford’s(we were doing a college tour during spring break). We are so glad we did. The food was fresh and yummy and comforting and all the things you crave. Also, it was so reasonable(price-wise). Stop here if you can. You will not regret it!

Pretty basic breakfast menu & pricing. I most always have an omelette and am usually satisfied. My partner most always orders eggs bene. Sometimes the yolk is cooked too hard, sometimes it’s not cooked quite enough, to the point it must be sent back. Service can be hit or miss, but most often we find it to be almost amusingly slow. After going there on an occasional Sunday morning for the past couple of years, we stopped in this past Saturday. We ended up with a waitress that apparently isn’t there on Sundays, and she was the BEST! When I asked for the home fries to be extra crispy, she offered up «would you like them in the fry-o-later?» When my partner ordered the eggs bene and requested the yolk to be cooked, but not hard, she said, «You can order them to be poached soft, medium or hard.» How come the Sunday morning crew nevah, evah pointed out those options to us? They’ve always just taken the order and trudged along. It was rather refreshing to have a helpful, fun, efficient person to take care of us! If you look around closely, you’ll notice the place could use a really, really good cleaning. C’mon guys. You close early enough in the afternoon. Deal with it!

I have mixed feelings about Bickford’s, its all relative to your expectations upon entering. The food is great for that hot breakfast your craving after not having time to eat a substancial one for months, or a late night and clearly don’t feel like cooking the next day. The atmosphere is nothing special, but very accessible coming in handy at times. The portions are very generous, takes a lot for me to stay full and their food does it :), and not to mention the prices are very reasonable, love The Lumberjack, interesting name to, with that breakfast its like literally everything! The service is not the best I’ve seen, it takes them forever to come out with the food/check, and have been in a rush needing to leave promptly after eating and took a year to get the bill. more often it is the check even when the place is pretty empty. If you drink coffee stay away from that in there, best bet is juice! The coffee resembled something a kid would make playing in the mud as a past-time. The servers there are friendly, can’t say I’ve had a bad one since I’ve been going which motivates me to come back as well as that hearty breakfast. If your not feeling the health-food and looking for some grease and«soul-food» etc then its yummy in a junky way.

My mother and i visited Acton for a long weekend, four days, and we ended up having breakfast at Bickford’s Acton all three mornings, and having the lobster benedict every morning. It is INCREDIBLE. And the service was really lovely each and every morning. I can’t say enough about this place, at least in the morning. I’m sure it says something that we came back for breakfast three times in a row when we were visiting and could have gone anywhere in our other mornings. But we chose to return. Awesome. Try the lobster benedict! And the service is great. The people who work here are SO friendly and nice. I can’t say enough nice things about this place. Lovely!!!

This Bickford’s is pretty down home and diner like. There seems to be many regulars. The hostess/waitress on the breakfast shift seemed to know what all the patrons usuals were by memory and their stories. There is something heartwarming in all of this. I had the apple pancake. It took a long time, a sign of good things to come. I ordered the junior, which was the size of a large plate, deep and lightly eggy and full of spicy chunky apples. I had enough to bring home for two other breakfasts.(It heated up nicely at home, by the way.) Very clean, other than the window shades which could have used some dusting and a pesky little fly that hung out by the window.

Great if you love hollandaise out of a can and other greasy breakfast delights. I admit to the occasional craving for such heart-stopping fare about once a year.

I ate at this restaurant when I visited my Yankee Cousin and his wife up north. I give it 5 Stars for the Lobster Benedict, there must have been an entire lobster on my plate! Our waitress was very friendly and the restaurant is clean. I can’t wait to go back and get this dish again!

How do you eff up breakfast? Come to Bickford’s and find out! The coffee is so weak and transparent, I thought it was tea, when they served it. Honestly, I called the waitress over, and everything. Everything is out of a box, or reconstituted. And it tastes like it. I got the homefries, and immediately noticed that all the homefries were identically sized and shaped, and were absolutely tasteless, BTW. Even the bacon was pre-cooked, and reheated, I think. Mine wasn’t even room temperature. I mean, as meals go, Bfast is an easy thing to cook. Why not make everything fresh?
