I love this place for their cool home décor items. I was given a wonderful wine rack bought from here in the shape of an old penny farthing bike. They’ve got great lamps and wall prints too

Home Goods is almost always a crapshoot — I always go in with very ‘fuzzy’ requirements. Sometimes I come away with a great find, sometimes I can’t find a damned thing. Lately, though, I’ve had some great experiences at this one. They have an ever-changing selection of rugs, at great prices, as well as some nice furniture. If you take some time to look, you often can find a really nice piece — like the reclaimed wood side table I got last time in there. Their kitchen selection is huge and really well stocked since they revamped the store last year. You can even score some really good hot sauces or spices. Bedding is hit or miss — as is the artwork selection. And here’s a secret — one of the best things they have going these days — Dog beds. Really — they have tons of awesome ‘donut’ style beds for dirt cheap. My dog has a couple of expensive beds from fancypants brands — and without question prefers the $ 15 ones I’ve scored at HG. Checkout is very well run and generally quite friendly. Really the only ‘ding’ here is the damn parking lot — what a nightmare that is. It really sours the experience at any store in this shopping center.

My friend suggested I check out this particular Home Goods store, after I told her how bad another one(at a different location) was(see my review). I’m in Acton fairly often but had no idea this place was next to Roche Brothers. It’s fairly new, but still. This combined space that houses TJ Maxx and Home Goods is large and tidy, but it may be because it’s new. Shelves are well-stocked, and there’s a decent kitchen section as well as one for bed/bath accessories and furniture. The shoe department(actually, a part of TJ Maxx) is huge, as is the children’s section. I still didn’t find what I wanted, but at least the experience was a lot better than my last encounter at a Home Goods’ place. The only drawback is that the road into the sea of stores(CVS, Roche Bros and a few others) is ridiculous. One narrow street in and out, with speed bumps. It wasn’t even crowded, yet it took a while to get out of the lot. Very poor design. I’d return only if I were in the area.
