Ichabod’s is CLOSED. There were a few good reasons why.

Overall very good Mediterranean style café food. Portions are on the lighter side, but that’s how Mediterranean plates are. They have live music Friday and Saturday nights from 7:30 to 11:00ish in the bar area. Would suggest this place for a brief lunch, light dinner, or after dinner drinks.

I’ve only been there once for lunch on a holiday, but there was a sufficient number of choices for the vegetarian. The two paninis I tried were quite tasty.

My co-workers and I went here for lunch today. Overall it was a good experience but a little pricey and someone mentioned how they seem to be a big fan of the«upsell». You can get french fries or substitute things for almost $ 2. One of my dining companions ordered a cup of soup, which was huge and I wish that had been the case for everything. I ordered the lamb kebab and expected more than 6 pieces on two skewers placed on a small bed of greens with rice for $ 16.99. I expected vegetables roasted with the lamb or at least a bigger portion. The lamb was cooked pretty well, with a nice touch of pink but it was a bit chewy. The french fries were rather delicious — crispy and light. The iced tea was also REAL iced tea and you could tell it had been brewed fresh. Overall, some portions were big, others lacked in size, the flavour was average, and the prices were all over the place. Next time we go(if ever), I will definitely stick to a sandwich.

As a local restaurant owner myself I try to be forthright and honest. My visit to Ichabods last week for dinner was very dissapointing. I always wanted to try the place out since they started dinner service and got a bar. When we arrived we sat at the bar for 9 minutes before the bartender came out to tell us how she was out back ordering clothes online… quaint. The shrimp skewer app was a tad dry and a bit over cooked. I ordered the steak tips dinner cuz I was very hungry. It is on the menu for $ 15.95…and you get THREE, yes THREE1 inch cube steak tips… are you kidding? I can go to joes and get a pound of them for that. They were dry and cooked to medium well, as we order them medium rare. I hope it was just an off night for them but not so sure.

Great place to go for lunch. My BF and I go here all the time. The service is a little slow but the food is great. I recommend the hummus and panini’s. I had dinner here once and the food was great but the menu was much smaller than the lunch menu.

It is with hesitation that I write this review, because the ownership and design of this store seems to change every time I go there. For some reason, my dad always wants to eat here for lunch when I visit. The food was mediocre last time I actually had it, and a little pricey for the location. I stopped by recently for a sandwich to go. I was surprised to find a two-piece jazz outfit slamming away. While excited to see some music and culture that isn’t a high-school musical sneak it’s way into Acton, they no longer had sandwiches to go, and everything was much more expensive and fancy. Proceed with caution.

I’d like to recommend Ichabod’s since I work really close to it. But they just don’t do anything very well. The coffee is extremely mediocre(is that an oxymoron). I like the fact that they have some Middle Eastern options on their menu. I’m pretty sure its the only place you can get a fallafel in Acton. The other sandwiches offer some variety but I haven’t tried most of them since I tend towards the vegetarian side. The service at Ichabods is notoriously slow, mostly for food. I don’t know what is going on back there but it takes a really long time to toast a bagel. If you live in Acton you don’t have a lot of options so you might as well go here. On one final note, their espresso comes out of a tin foil bag.

I go to Ichabod’s fairly often — sometimes breakfast, sometimes lunch, sometimes both(it is a great place to go for the day to study or read). The food is pretty good and the décor is cute(local artwork on the walls for sale!). The service is okay; they mess up my order sometimes, but they always correct it when I ask(once with a free gift certificate for an omelette!). Overall: good food, nice atmosphere, decent service and a moderate prices.

This place has the best bagels you will ever eat! It’s not just bagels, they also have sandwiches, salads, It also recently changed ownership, and the new owner has added lots of Middles Eastern options and their hummus is the best I’ve had in a long time, as is the falafel sandwich. A great addition to their menu, especially since you can’t get those options anywhere else in Acton. Only downside is that they close early, so you can only have the delicious food for breakfast or lunch!

Ichabod’s had some of the best sandwiches we’ve ever had. I reccomend the panini sandwiches. I had the Smoky Mountain Turkey and my wife had the Pesto Chicken Panini. I own a restaurant myself so I’m not easy to impress but the food at Ichabod’s was really good. The panini sandwiches came with some tasty bagel chips, a pickle and some choc. covered almonds a nice touch. We’ll be going back to try some of the other sandwiches for sure.
