1^st and last experience at Jos A Bank. Went to buy a suit for a wedding. Drove 40 minutes from my house because I thought this was a quality place to buy a suit. Tried on suits, picked one, paid for it. It needed alterations. Got measured up. 2 weeks later I go back to pick it up. I try it on and it was like a bad joke. The pants literally fell down, yet the hem was way too short. The sleeves on the jacket were way too short. The shirt was supposed to be taken in but obviously hadn’t even been touched. Isn’t this their business, to fit you in a suit? My first thought was just to take it to another tailor, but I don’t need the hassle. I decided to tell her to just keep the suit. She says” most people are patient with their tailor? What ??? I told her «You didn’t get one thing right? How many times should I drive out here while you clowns get it right. These people are incompetent and obnoxious. I’d go to the wedding in jeans and a t-​shirt before I set foot in another Jos Bank store. I went to Men’s wearhouse. They were courteous and competent and got it right the first time. Light years better than the clowns at Banks

Again, I don’t usually write reviews other than food, but this place is just no good.
A few things
1) Every single time I go in there it looks like a tornado hit the place. Hangers on the floor in piles, clothing on the floor in piles, no organization.
2) I bought 2 suits and had both pants permanently creased… When I got them back, there are 2 creases on the thigh area and this cannot be fixed.
3) I called today to see if they had a black dress shirt in my size before I made the drive down there because they are always slacking in inventory. The guy on the phone wouldn’t check for my size and said I had to come down and look myself… Weak customer service. Take a class, customer service 101… So I drive down, the sales guy is wearing sunglasses in the store, which is extremely unprofessional. He didn’t seem to give two craps about trying to help out. Oh, and no black dress shirts, weird, given that black is very popular. I left and will never return. They used to be okay, but have gone way downhill. If I owned the place, this sales guy would be out a job.
Don’t go here.

I consider this review A Tale of Two Experiences. I went to the store during one of their buy one get two free sales, looking for sportscoats. I was also considering getting some more summer casual wear. The salesman was very helpful and I ended up walking out with 4 sportscoats (one of my choices was heavily discounted on its own so I bought it separately and got 3 others as part of the buy 1 get 2 free). I also purchased 3 casual shorts and shirts, 3 polos, and 3 traveler dress shirts. Much more than I expected to buy, but the sales were good and I could use the updates. Good service and I was happy with the clothes.
Day 2: I made the very inexperienced shoppers mistake of not trying everything on. I went with my usual sizes and was wrong on the 6 casual wear items. The fit was too tight for my liking so I returned to the store to exchange them (not return them but just exchange them for identical garments a size larger). Despite being measured by the salesman, the sleeve length of the dress shirts were too short and one of the 4 sportscoats was also a bit tight under the arms so they were brought for return as well. My wife assures me that in the ladies fashion world, returns and exchanges are very common so I didn’t stress about this nor was I particularly annoyed. After all, I could have tried them on. When I did return the next day to make what I thought was a simple exchange, I was greeted with a look of such disgust at what I was looking to do that I felt as if I had just asked the salesman who sold me the clothes to cut off his arms. I gathered up the new sizes for the 6 casual wear items, dress shirts and chose a new sportscoat that fit better and we proceeded to make the «very long and difficult return» as was told to a caller he attended to in the middle of this catastrophe. I am a business owner and there have been plenty of times that a customer has requested something that is not convenient or is difficult, but you always smile and attend to the matter as if it is an every day request. That is just customer service 101. If I noted any of my employees treating a customer even remotely how I was treated, they would be fired on the spot. I was made to feel as if I committed a felony and I will never return due to this. My mistake was not trying everything on but to be so blatantly disdained for creating some additional effort is inexcusable. There are plenty of other stores to get men’s clothing around and this one doesn’t seem to make a priority of a customers satisfaction, even if it means they have to do a little more work after a purchase. I’m sorry to have created such a hassle by buying $ 1000 worth of clothing. Next time I’ll try Goulds of Acton. And will be sure to try everything on.
