Patriot Auto is my go-​to mechanic for all of my cars. Dedicated, knowledgeable, friendly, willing to tackle a «mysterious» problem whatever it takes.
Reasonable rates and fast too. Steve & Doug cannot be beat.

Steve & Doug are the best. My daughter bought a 2002 Wrangler that I knew would need work. Any repair they have made has been based on cost, my daughter’s safety, and smart proactive maintenance. I travel a lot and they treat her like family if I’m out of town. I can’t see going anywhere else.

I agree with others on Unilocal.Honest shop with great work ethics. The dealership told me I needed brakes done. Doug checked them and told us the brakes pads had alot more life. Trust is what makes a business last. I will be a regular customer because they have my trust.

I highly recommend Patriot Automotive to anyone who has a car! We have always taken our vehicles to the dealer for service, but with 100K and 160K miles on them, respectively, we decided it was time to find a trusted mechanic elsewhere. A few people recommended Steve and Doug at Patriot Automotive and I have to say that the instant I met Steve I trusted him and felt like we had found what we were looking for. Unfortunately for us, we have had a number of problems with both cars lately and Steve has been wonderful. He has been able to take a look at whatever the problem is right away, has diagnosed and fixed them (or in one case, told us we should take a wait and see approach). He fixed one problem on one of our cars for less than one thousand dollars, a fix that would have cost about $ 3K at the dealer. Most importantly, he is clearly a very honest guy and we feel we can trust whatever he says about our cars. He fixed a small problem once and only charged us for an hour and 15 minutes labor, when I think most people would have charged for a full two hours, or at least an hour and a half! He and Doug are both pleasant and friendly and I can’t say enough nice things about them. Take your cars there for repairs!

He’s great — good with advice over the phone and always has appointments when you need them. He gives you estimates and always is honest with what he thinks might be best (based on your car, the fix, and your finances).
Six months ago he helped me buy a 3 year old used Prius. I drove it from the dealer to him, he inspected it and drove it around — made me feel safe buying it. And it’s been a wonderful car since then.

I tried Patriot Auto almost a year ago when my Ford Focus needed repair, on the recommendation of my favorite owner/​mechanic who doesn’t work on anything but Hondas. I found Steve to be friendly and professional, and he found the problem with my Focus and replaced the faulty part sooner than I expected, for a reasonable price.
Fast forward to yesterday, when I picked up the same Focus from Steve. It was in again, and again Steve repaired it quickly. The problem turned out to be the new part Steve had installed earlier — it failed way prematurely. Since it was under warranty, there was no cost for the part. But what showed me the type of honorable businessman Steve is was that he didn’t charge me a cent for his diagnostics or repair time, even though he had no control over the faulty part.
I am reasonably mechanically inclined, and I look for repair professionals that know what they are doing and care about their customers. I’m happy to pay fairly for such services. I’m confident that if I had gone elsewhere, whether an independently owned shop like Steve’s or a dealer, there would have been some charge for the time the mechanic spend diagnosing and replacing the faulty part. But as the business owner, and honorable professional, Steve did the right thing, without my asking. That behavior builds trust that is invaluable to me.

Following a friend’s recommendation, I visited Patriot Auto Repair for the first time a year or so ago. Since then, the shop has helped me (and my Honda) with everything from oil changes ($ 24 w/​coupon), random pop-​in questions, and major repairs. Steve is very helpful re: payment, pickup, and scheduling. I have never been presented with any information I didn’t trust (invaluable for someone who knows very little about cars) and never feel pressured to spend access money. My only complaint is that they forgot to give me an updated window sticker — other than that, they have my recommendation!
